My son is on the Daytrana Patch 30mg. My insurance will no longer cover it!! Cost is over 300 bucks a month.
I need to switch to something very similar. I don't want him loopy and I need something that has minimal effect on his appetite. He is so thin.. Any suggestions?
We do have a doctors appointment but I wanted some feedback from the parents

My granddaughter is 14 and has been on ADHD meds since she was 4. I have always accepted that they were ok. Yesterday we took her for her well child checkup and discovered that she has a heart murmur. I started looking up the med she is on Quilivent XR and side affects are horrible and fall right in line with her problems. She will not be taking anymore ADHD meds. Quite a lot of the different meds she has taken is on the list for long term side affects of ADHD meds on the heart.
I would suggest that you research completely any medication that they want to put your child on. I wish now I had never put her on it. We will have to figure out a way to handle the behavior without the medication.
I am sorry I cannot help you more. I wish you all the luck in the world on finding what is right for your son. My prayers are with you. Dianne
My daughter was on ADHD meds until 18. She is now finishing her Master's at 32. Lots of instability and med changes back in the day. And you never know what will work or make things worse.
