I've already got an S, and I've lapsed a bit.....but ....after I went shopping I took my usual route home along the seafront, the sky was moody but that didn't stop me wanting to see the sea....I'm going away tomorrow and coming back on Friday, after meeting up with Jools2020 for a coffee and maybe lunch π, we've been meaning to meet up for ages so I'm very excited but it does mean I won't see the sea for a couple of days so today I needed to get on the beach.Anyway back to today, parked the car and walked across the green, the sky was interesting, I took a couple of photos and looked around....wait.....what's that? Oh it's disappeared, could be a wooden groin, showing and hiding as the sea ebbs and flows.....but no!!! It's not in the same place....and gone again but not before I realised I was looking at a seal π¦ in the sea. It looked like a black Labrador swimming about then diving under the water and coming up somewhere else nearby .
I rushed down the slopes then the steps onto the sand, arriving at the waters edge puffing and gazing at the last place I saw the seal.....but it never came back up near enough to take photos.
So I walked and just because the tide was out a bit and the sand was firm I ran a few short intervals.....still get very out of breath.
Enjoy your walks challengers.

Thank you, there are apparently lots of them a bit further north, that's the first one I've seen in the sea here π.It's a long way I'm going hence the overnight stop, I'm really excited, it would have meant nothing special before I got ill
ππ Oh how wonderful to see a seal!! π¦ So special to watch their grac ful antics in the water & their lumbering around on the rocks. Hope you & the lovely Jools2020 have a good coffee meet up! The sea will be waiting for you π€
I've seen them once or twice before but never get photos, if I go north a bit apparently there are loads on the beach, thank you, I'm sure we will, after a night in a hotel and soak in a bath I'll be fresh as a daisy π
Amazing photo! π I remember seeing a seal on the beach when we lived in Kent. I thought it was a chocolate lab! Another dog walker commented on the seal on the beach but by then it was gone π π Have a wonderful time with Jools2020, it's so wonderful to see virtual friendships turn into 'live' friendships π
Thanks, yes we've had many obstacles to meeting up but looks like it's happening now. We saw one swimming after a woman in Chichester harbour once and she came close to shore so I could take photos, but usually by the time I realise what I'm.seeing they are gone
I thought my ears were burning! I canβt offer you the sea - I must be as far away from it as itβs possible to be in this country. I do have a pond nearby, though π€£. Looking forward to seeing you! π
Aaw how wonderful! And love the photo! Very atmospheric πI used to live at the seaside and would go to the beach whatever the weather. I've got some sweet photos of my eldest who was a toddler at the time, paddling in wellies and a Paddington coat in winter π€£
