A real walking challenge.. and how !
I have walked every day... every day... for at least ten minutes and up to an hour plus... BUT finding the time to write it here and reply to the amazing post of everyone's runs!! Impossible
... so...
A brief history, ( not of Time, ) , but of the last walks since my last post... walk 9!
Walk 10... J is for Joy... joy that the walk, on an errand down to the GP surgery with Mr OF and back, had eventually a positive result... good news at the current time!
Walk 11... K is for kind words.... walk through the town, to the Art Studio where I have had seven of my watercolour paintings framed... compliments and the kindness of the owner... some walks bring the most unexpected blessings!
Walk 12...L..is for Love... and of course Long... a longish walk all around a nearby small town.. errands dropping shoes off to be soled, and a boot full of charity donations to be dropped off. We have so much and many have so little... it is good to share...
Walk 13... M is for mist...No run... but a walk around the village... a misty, damp day, but a need for fresh air and a leg stretch...no time for running, but always time for a short walk.
Walk 14...N is for No! No rest for me...No sitting down and No let up on the laughter and love...workout day with small person and more steps that I can count... I should wear my watch,,, up and down the stairs, too.. round the garden and the meadow, playing, picking the last tomatoes to bring in, and bag up with a ripe banana, and then the peace and the afterglow of the Nicest of days !
Walk 15...O is for Omar.... I should have been walking back into the framers, for my last painting to be framed... but alas... still not ready... No matter Omar will wait... So,, walk to the Post office and back and a walk around the supermarket too.. not done for a long time!
Walk 16...P is for Physician... and Positive...up and out for a hospital visit and the appointment for Mr OF with his consultant. A long way around, walk from the car park,, drizzled and damp but nonetheless pleasant. Then the endless corridors and stairs... we never take the lifts... and at last.. the appointment. The news was as expected, still a shock, but the prognosis, positive... and we now know the nature of the beast! We are on the way... and a late O, here... Operation in four weeks!
Walk 17... Q is for Questions... lots of them... A glorious walk/talk session at the Downs...a slow walk, with so many questions that I needed to ask... to ask myself and the world around me... crab-apples littering the trails... rainbow spectrum on the trees and the Autumn paintbrush, tinting, here, there and everywhere... and yet...some of the trees holding tight to their green garb, in the warmth of the welcome sunlight.
Talking is good... it eases the mind and frees the emotions... walking as you talk, is even more liberations... and a good listener...the questions float and are absorbed, acknowledged and even, answered, The companionship , the surrounding beauty did much to calm me... and although the walk was slow, it was enough.
Today's walk....Walk 18...R is for rambling and roaming... and just a election of short walks. After the early mist cleared.
About and around...up and down... the gardens... still holding their own with the last bedding plants rubbing shoulders with Autumn berries...My own garden, needing tending badly, tomato plants, and runner bean vines all needing lifting and composting. Washing to be hung out and a morning gone.. with only a brief sit down for a well deserved bowl of yoghurt banana and honey!
Tomorrow... who knows... tomorrow... S is for....( watch this space !
