Haven't had one for a while!

My first postcard in the little while what's really quite an exciting appearance in my inbox today 😁😁

Still trudging along - now 71% complete. I'm not going to hit my target, but who cares, I'll just keep going until I get there 🚶🚶🚶

It's been a miserable time of late and I will admit I am pretty demotivated 🙄

I think it’s having some sort of target that matters rather than actually hitting it.. Had you aimed to get to the finish within a specific time frame? My motto is just do what you can, when you can.. I’m sorry you’re feeling demotivated.. the weather isn’t helping at the moment, is it.. I hope you will get your mojo back soon.

Yes, I set what I thought was an achieveable target, but is turning out to be far from that! I can change it, and I think I probably will otherwise it's just another self-made pressure that I could do without.

I think the incessant rain certainly isn't helping any of us just now. The treadmill hasn't been unfolded for weeks either. I just have no energy for anything other than the basics just now - work and household duties are about it as my fatigue levels are awful at the moment....the worst I can remember in a long, long, time. Add to that the fact that I lost one of my beloved Mastiffs, Colonel, earlier in the month and I just have the blues really bad at the moment 😔 I feel as if I could go back to bed and never get out of it again..............

Hi Over60sRunner , I’m so sorry to hear about Colonel. That would bring anyone down. Give yourself time, it’s still early days. Hopefully, with better weather on the way, you’ll be back on track but at the moment, just be kind to yourself. Best wishes to you xx

We do put unnecessary pressure on ourselves don’t we.. I’ve failed to achieve any number of targets in the last few years.. Today I should be onto wk3, run3, but I’ve woken up with a migraine - the triptan has worked but it’s left me with the usual zombie hangover so a run isn’t happening. I’ll have to take the dog out for a decent walk this afternoon though, as my OH has work.. I’m guessing you also have to get up for your remaining dog(s)? I imagine they are missing Colonel and need extra hugs too. We had to have our elderly cat put to sleep just over a week ago and the dog is definitely missing him, and asking for extra attention.

I was thinking this morning that I should try to find some more creative targets.. rather than things that use so much energy.. I might try painting..🤔

I hope you can find some solace and start to feel better. Sending a virtual hug 🤗

“Miserable”, “trudging”, but still achieving your milestones! How awesome is that!!! Well done!!!! It’s doubly awesome!

And sending you loads of energy. Sounds like you are having still a rough time. And it may be that your mind and body just needs a bit more time.

Sending you loads of good vibes! You are doing so well considering everything, so do make sure you pat yourself on the back!

(And my motherly self wants to make sure everyone takes all their vitamins 😄. Sometimes what makes us tired is a simple absence of the one or other vitamin. Although some say taking multivitamin supplements is controversial as it is suggested one shouldn’t mix them, but I swear by the Berocca tablets, with Aldi having a cheaper equivalent)

Sending you lots of get-your-energy-back wishes!

Thank you so much 🙏 I am another firm believer in multivitamins and take my one a day alongside milk thistle, plant sterols, magnesium and zinc in the hope that it keeps the viruses at bay - but sadly it's not always the case! Strangely, I had a battery of immunology blood tests recently which showed up nothing, so no closer to knowing what's going on 🙄

All I can do is keep trudging on and hope I turn a corner, although I suspect that things will not significantly improve before August 2025 when I hit 66 and can finally claim my state pension and retire...... or maybe before if I raid my retirement fund 😕
