1000 mile walk challenge - reached 500 miles

This morning went out for an early morning walk 6.25 km and that is me reached just over 500 miles. Just another 500 to go 🙂. Hopefully can get finished before winter sets in. How is everyone getting on with the challenge?

Reminds me of the Proclaimers hit of year's ago "I will walk 500 miles" you should play or sing it on your walks. 😊 🎶🚶‍♂️

I have that on my music downloads but mostly listen to podcasts when walking, various things. It seems a long way yet 500 miles but I’ll get there . 😊

That is so awesome, Doris8 , congratulations on getting to 500 miles 🥳 Halfway toward your goal with the year not halfway done seems like a good cushion to have!

I actually checked on my progress this morning: I am 42% towards my goal of 4000 km this year while being ahead of schedule almost 120 km. I guess having to use up some pre-paid Pilates classes and thus walking there at least one additional time per week is helping!

Yes and no... I walked 3.890 km in 2022, so I figured I can manage 300 meters/day more... We'll see! 🤣

Woohooo!!! Nice one! I’m coming up to 400 miles. Just managed to get ahead my pace marker with today’s run! 0.7 miles ahead, mostly due to rowing more again, and putting in the equivalent miles for dumbbells and stretching workouts, thanks to a handy chart from the people at Conqueror ( at app.theconqueror.events/dow... )

So we’ll done us!!! Woohoo!!!

Well done Doris8! That's inspirational. I'm not doing this challenge as, until the last few weeks, I couldn't have even managed 5 miles let alone 500, but well done and here's to the other 500 🍹🥂

Congratulations achieving 500 miles during the hardest time of the year. The next 500 into the summer should hopefully feel easier. I reached the 1000 miles last week.

Hi Doris8 Congrats on reaching 500 miles! The Proclaimers are on tour at the moment - they were performing at my local venue last week but I was too late to get a ticket. I'm on 391 miles, as of this morning.
