I have just walked for 34 minutes and the app has measured it all as normal walking not brisk. I am almost running, so there is a major fault with this app!!

Not sure what app you are using, I use Mapmyrun/walk/ride for my three past time excersises, I have not had any problems with them.
I am so sorry you are having problems, the developers are aware and are trying to fix it. We don’t have any access to that side of the app we are here to try to help with motivation.

Please leave a review on Google or Apple Store. We need to know the device model and operating system version in order to give a precise response. Most issues of this type are related to phone settings that make the app unable to run in the background. For example if you have a Huawei phone you should allow the app to run in the background (by going to Settings, Power, etc. making sure the app is not closed when the screen is off)
