Hi I usually average about 12000 steps a day. I'm about 4 stone overweight and have been prescribed orlistat today. Any help or tips with the walking or orlistat journey greatly appreciated. Also have a bad back and low thyroid. Thanks in advance

I am hypothyroid so I can sympathise. I find exercise helps with mine, slow and steady and you will see the change. I dont know about orlistat but good luck with it I hope it helps. Keep coming back and we will all get fit together.

Welcome. For walking I like to set realistic goals for myself to work towards. And with my own personal health issues I try not to put off my exercise for a future date because my symptoms flare up unexpectedly and can put a stop to plans. Same goes with the weather. Strike while the iron is hot.

Also, again due to my health issues, when I visit with friends these days we usually go for a slow gentle putter, rather than meeting at a cafe or a restaurant. It's good exercise, prevents you from eating out frequently and is quite a pleasant way to spend time with people.

Happy walking.
