This is a little embarrassing, but nobody seems to address this subject.

I am over 65, male and had AN surgery in June of 2020. I still have severe balance issues and daily headaches, but my question is this; during sex, my head feels like it might explode and afterwards for days my balance and headaches seem to be much worse. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Hi

I had Steriotactic radiotherapy in Dec 2020. I’m still experiencing the exploding head feeling when I move too fast or excerpt myself with physical exercise. It feels debilitating and there are days when I feel totally wiped out.

I’m currently attending vestibular physio for my balance and was recommended to purchase Nordic walking poles. They are the best!

Best of luck on your recovery.

We need more people to ask these questions! It seems exertion causes the symptoms you are experiencing and I love the thought that Nordic poles help, good luck incorporating them into your sex life!. I hope there are others who can give you helpful advice, if not on here then try the Facebook BANA group... all very helpful and open. I haven’t yet had radiotherapy or surgery on my 17mm AN but I’ll certainly be following this thread to find out how people manage.

Hi… I’m a 61 year old female, & I very recently had surgery & am 6 weeks into recovery. I have had tentative sex which I was very anxious about. I did have sharp head pains during it (so had to say so as it really hurt) and the next day my balance was shot to bits & I fell over indoors. I had sharp head pains/ bad balance all the following day too, and agree, it wiped me out for a few days. Very wary of trying again now to be honest. Other things can make me feel the same, I find that although I feel fairly ok now, if I over exert myself, I will pay the next day with unsteadiness & pains so I’m trying to take it easy.. I contacted BANA on the recommendation of ‘flappers’ as my balance is not good (making me wary of driving yet) & they were so helpful. I have bought a balance disc which I do a few short exercises on every day, I think it’s helping, might be worth you calling BANA if you haven’t already? Hope this is reassuring for you. It’s a huge operation & is life changing, but we are here to tell the tale! B xx

Yes I get that head exploding feeling quite a lot but it is pronounced during sex. To be quite honest it’s put me off as I end up feeling rough for a few days afterwards. I had gamma knife stereotactic radio surgery in 2013 and still get a problem with the head and balance once the Drs get back to more normality I’m going to ask for vestibular balance training 🤞 it works
