Hello all, I been to see my GP for unbearable Tinnitus problem in my both ears around Mid February and he has reffered me to the ENT specialist..When the ENT saw me she did endoscopy through my nose and said I have adinoids but nothing to worry about it. Just for precaution she has requested the MRI. Which I went on 26th February as the time passed ringing sound faded away but came back around four weeks ago. Then I realised that I have not received my MRI results but when I called the Luton and Dunstable Hospital the secretory said they forgot to book an appointment in April 2018, I will send an email to outpatiend department to book an appointment. I went to see my ENT specialist Tuesday, 31st May, as soon as I entered his office he said everything is fine but we need to do Nasal Biopsy and will give me general anaesthesia and 99% I will be fine. There is some sort of Mass on the top of my nose. He said my ears are absolutley fine nothing to worry about. Once the biopsy is done and the results come okay I have peace for life.
After I went home, I felt uneasy as he has not explained me much why he wants to do biopsy what does my result states, is the MRI valid after 5 months it was done. I called his office for continues five days but the secretory said somebody will be in touch. As I called my GP he read my report to me sand it was stated I do not have cancer and I repeat you dont have cancer but the radiologist has suggested for the ENT to look into my nose and do the biopsy for precaution.
I called the hospital and request I need more explaination, if the radiologist is sure I do not have cancer why he is asking ENT for biopsy inside my nose. I called the hospial and request to cancel my biopsy appointment until the ENT gives me explaination. Now I am going to see him tomorrow and see what he says. What frustrating is he has not even told me why he is sure that I need to go through biopsy.
Does anyone has gone through this? I am so anxious that I am not able to concenterate at all in day to day living and at work...
Thanks,

Thanks Jack for this information. I will definately look into this. Re: I have requested another appointment with the consultant at L&D to resolve few of my questions. I saw him again mid August when I asked him why this took this long to call me and decided to do biopsy. He was not having any answer, the above question I asked as I wanted to know that how long the MRI scan is valid for? They asked me to do biopsy after 5 months of my MRI scan that was unusual as in 5 months anything could have happened and if thing was soppse to go wrong would have been by now. To cut the story short, the consultant have not even seen my MRI scan was just reading the report and then advising me to go for biopsy. The frustrating thing is, when 1st he told me that I need biopsy done he was sure everything will be fine (99%) and rest assured you are settle for life...2nd time onwards 75% reports will come normal..then I requested can I get the time to think, then being told I am giving you two minutes to think that will you agree for biopsy or not. I cannot give further time. After thinking about it I said no I dont want to go for biopsy as I am not convinced that it was needed. As soon as I said this he said in future something goes wrong you will blame me, I will give you appointment after 6 weeks so you can take the decision that you want biopsy done or not. I was suppose to receive the appointment letter late September but as of today 26th November have not received anything from the hospital. Since them I have send the report to senior consultant I know and he confirmed that due do box ticking excersice most of the NHS consultants are scared now to take the decision and they opt for covering their back. NHS is under financial pressure and need to look into their procedure and wasting unnecessary money. I am grateful that the doctors are doing great job looking after all of us, but they need to shake the policies, the doctors need to take executive decisions. Stop doint tick boxes excercise which will help the patients after all of unnecessary medications and tests.
On a good note, my Tinittus is much better now. Only came back twice in last 3 months, once it was very bad when I was stressed and one time for few minutes. Since last few months I have made several changes in my life style. 1. Walk atleast 5K daily. 2. Went Vegan for a month btw I am Veggie by birth so was easy but this has helped in many ways. 3. Alchohol intake reduced drastically i'e cold beers.. less visit to pubs from 4 reduced to 1. In and all small changes has made significant positive changes in my health i'e lost 9kg in 6 weeks.
Hope you are getting better but would recommend try changing the diet that will help you much more.
