Hi CapitalT thankyou for sharing when we were in the grips of depression it's quite scary because it gets a good hold of us and can make us feel awful ..have you just started taking the medication? Because some meds can make us worse to start with and calm us down after it gets in our systems or it can just not agree with us and make us feel worse totally..keep your chin up the best you can take baby steps slowly you will get there in the end here if you should need us

Love Nat xx

Thank you.

Started on mertazipine as not sleeping well, was moved to sertraline, and most recently to ascitalipram, about a week or so ago, still not sleeping well. Been suicidal and difficulty in motivation.

Seems to go in fits and starts, good days bad, trying to hang in here.

Hello DodgyD and welcome to our friendly Community.

It can take anti-depressant medication time to get into your system and help you, anything from 4 to 6 weeks.

I am sure the Mental Health team will be in contact with you soon with an appointment date and time.

In the meantime try to take care of yourself as best you can. Have a look at 'Resources' under 'Pinned Posts' on this page for telephone numbers that you may find helpful.

We are also here to help if you feel you need us,

Lottie x
