Nexplanon bleeding

Hi all, I have been bleeding for around 4 weeks. I have had a smear recently and am waiting to hear back. My GP said it may or may not be my implant but we don't know until I have it out and also when results come back for the smear. I have has my implant for 2 years and this is the longest period I have ever had. I'm going into the 5th week. I have been put on the pill to help with bleeding but it's been a week and still no signs of stopping. Has anyone else had any experience of long periods eitb the implant or being put on birth control pills to help with bleeding ? Any advice or stories will be appreciated massively.
