No need to be scared, mainly just embarrassed. I had to have a camera up my bladder and really there was nothing to it. You can’t feel a thing and they fill you with cold water so that they can see things better. At least I presumed that was what they did because afterwards I needed a wee, that was pretty strange because it was cold water and you are used to your wee being warm. Lol

I told them they should provide paper bags for over the head, they laughed. It was all pretty comfortable considering there were about 2 or 3 nurses watching him do it.

You’ll be fine.

My doctor sent me because (he suspected bladder cancer, he didn’t tell me that and I only found that out later from another doctor) but I went to see him because I was having trouble getting rid of cystitis. I knew what it was of course, but when he saw blood in my sample which is perfectly normal for a UTI I think he must have thought the worst.

Anyhow, after the procedure I was told there was nothing there but redness which pointed to a normal UTI which cleared up later after another course of antibiotics.

thanks again Ellie

I’m being referred because of blood in my urine, my doctor sent my sample to lab but came back as no infection found, even though I do get some burning and twinges below

I've had blood in my urine for over 35 years they can't find anything wrong I've had all the tests. I get Uti symptoms but no infection shows up but I demand antibiotics for my symptoms. Hope this eases your mind.x

Best of luck when you go. xx

At least if there is anything wrong they’ll catch it early enough.

My nurse told me that quite a lot of people have blood in their urineas they get older.

Mine has been like this for 5+years with other investigations showing nothing untoward.

Hopefully you will be the same 🙏
