Age 38 and IUI success??

Hello lovely ladies just need advice and if anyone been in this before.. am 38 and had DOR my son is 16 years old I have no fertility issues all the blood tests and scans normal been trying continuously for almost 10 months I want to try IUI first before thinking of IVF any advice ladies? Thanks

Hello! It’s a while ago since you wrote your post so this reply might be too late to be of use. I’m 36 and currently 17 weeks pregnant from stimulated IUI (will be 37 when the baby’s born). The 3rd round was a success for us. First two failed. I’d say if you’re keen to try IUI before IVF and there’s no explanation for why you’ve not got pregnant yet then go for it. It’s less invasive than IVF which is great although you still have hormone injections and regular scans etc. We actually only did it because we were on the waiting list for IVF and it was something to try in the meantime but I’m glad we did. I think the success of the 3rd round for us was due to taking progesterone after the insemination as I have late ovulation and short cycles. This might not be relevant for you but just telling you as I was frustrated not to have been offered progesterone the first two times. All the best whatever route you go down xx
