I have been on the Norethisterone for nearly 2 months now and have been struggling with heavy night sweats these were getting me down so i thought i would stop them for a week to see if the sweating stopped (monday 22 Oct & no Tablet and Tuesday 23rd Oct no tablet) , but Yesterday Oct 23rd during the day I had niggling pains and felt terribly bloated & in the evening i started to feel unwell with cramp pains in the lower [part of my body like i was having a period, went to the loo only to find i am now bleeding again Whats happening!!!
Is it just a co incident this happened or has my boidy gone back to thinking i am not menopausal. I am very confused and fed up. I am 55

I am on norithesterone for super heavy flooding periods and spotting in between (I am 46 and in perimenopause). I take it days 12 to 26 and always get a bleed 2-3 days after stopping it so your bleed could be due to that? Sorry, I've just read your post again and it says you are postmenopausal so not sure but still think it could be linked to stopping the norethisterone. Best to get it checked though.
Can I just ask, how long had you been on it and what was it prescribed for? I've been on it for several months and just started noticing small improvements x
I have been diagnosed with Endometrial Hyperplasia (non Cancerous) so they gave me the option of the coil or the tablets to try to reduce the lining of the womb. They did say that if the bleeding returns to let them know.
The pain is in the pelvic area on the right hand side.
I think i will ring them tomorrow
I have been for about 2 months
26/10/2018 Update
Rang my gynaecology clinic today and have to go and see them on Monday cos of the prolonged bleeding and now passing clots
So will update on Monday
29/10/18 Update
Gynaecologist was very thorough asked me loads of questions and was very kind. He said we will do a Hysteroscopy and i just went blank and got all scared. (the last one was not a pleasant experience. He said Bless you.
So he offered me to have it under General and so i know nothing about it.
I will also have a Biopsy taken and the Merina fitted.
This is basically starting from scratch again making sure that they are not missing anything. He gave me so tablets to stop the bleeding (which finally stopped this Friday 2/11/18 Now i just have pink watery discharge.
Op is on 5/11/18 so will update then or later in the week
Op on the 5.11.18 went well they took biopsy which came back all clear just still that i have the Endometrial Hyperplasia still the non cancerous one (Phew).
They also put in place the Merina. Hysteroscopy done as well all under general so i knew nothing about it.
Follow up is in May this year.
Now the bleeding after the procedure stopped 2 weeks after then on 16th started to feel unwell bloated and sicky feeling and pinky discharge.
Then by Friday felt really odd only to find that i was bleeding again very heavy etc.
I was puzzled and very worried about this as they said if it started again to let them know. Spoke to hospital this morning and had a very nice chat with a ward Nurse who explained things to me.
As i am post menopausal the bleeding is a shock but she told me that because the hyperplasia has made my lining thicker my body releases hormones for a period and the merina is there to reduce them. (Still a bit confused).
she told me that it would be normal to bleed on and off for 6 months and some have for 10. Nice......
