Pelvic Inflammatory Disease after chlamydia?

I got a mirena coil this week for bad period pain and the doctor did an sti test at the same time. It came back positive for chlamydia. I have not had sex in a year so I have had it for at least this long, and I would say maximum a year and a half, as I think this is when I last had a sti test (which was negative).

Seeing as I have had chlamydia for at least a year I am worried about Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. I was treated with azithromycin for the chlamydia. Would this clear up PID if I did have it?

The only symptoms I have had that align with PID over the past year are bad period pains and maybe more discharge over the past couple of months. I came off the pill a month or two before the period pains started so I attributed it to that but now I am worried this wasn't the case. I am also having abdominal pain still after the mirena was inserted 5 days ago.

I am wondering how likely it is that I have PID and if so how likely it is that I am now infertile. The people at the clinic didn't seem worried at all because I haven't had many symptoms, but I have read that it can be symptomless. I want to get checked for PID but am unsure if I do this at my GP or at the sexual health clinic. Also what tests are usually conducted and what treatments are best for PID? I want to make sure I get it sorted properly so it doesn't end up doing any more damage.
