Hi, I'm 55 years old and up until this year was having regular periods. This year have had three periods that I would class as normal then the odd spotting when one was due the period thus month is light but us now on day 13. I am one to google things and assume this is normal for perimenapausal women. Anyone else had similar?

Marion, I was going through all this sort of women's stuff in my mind this morning. Firstly I would say keep a note of when your periods stop, you will be surprised later on how many times you get asked this, it's a major thing in your life when it happens but years later you will forget how long ago it was.

I for the life of me can't remember how long ago it was although I remember reading it happening.

I am 57 and have been going through the menopause or what seems like forever.

Since ending my periods (which do taper off very slowly for some women, as we are all so very different) so I don't think there's anything to worry about there.

The hot and cold sweats is one of the worst symptoms, but your body changes in a lot of ways (well did do for me) my mood swings are wicked, and my concentration is appalling, I have no energy and basically it can leave you feeling if you are thrown on a scrap heap.

It's just part of life, and worse for some than others, and it's also a time to stay strong and positive about yourself, there's enough negativity dished out to you when your in your 50's. The younger generation think we are from another planet, and there is no respect any more.

If you get worried about anything, make sure you get it off your chest, speak to your GP, join a well women clinic, discuss it with friends.

I just purchased a pair if 4inch heeled boots!!!! They will be to high for me lol, but why not give them a try. Eat healthy, excercise, try and stay off medications, be young, be happy, and don't let the menopause beat you down, keep in touch 🌸

Hi, thank you for your reply. This getting older is a shocker....

Have made a GP appointment just to have a chat. My concern stems around my mum having womb cancer which was quickly diagnosed and dealt with.

Will start noting everything down. Thought pmt was bad enough but it has nothing on my mood swings etc at the moment.

Thanks again

Marion
