Wasn't going to do a blog ....but then thought maybe I would....

So I have just finished week three and have had many an up and down. Despite my whole hearted best efforts the weight loss has been painstakingly slow. My GP has comforted me with the words 'it's your age'' - Blah... not what i want to hear.

Anyway since the start of march I have now lost 4 pounds - that is bang on average weight loss. And two of those pounds have come off since last wednesday - clearly seeing GP has done me the power of good.

So the good news - I now weigh two bags of sugur less. My BMI has tipped into overweight as opposed to obese. The really good news is my blood pressure has come right down - which is very pleasing as it means I don't have to take pills for this.

I have two stone to lose - I would like to do this sooner than later- apparently achievable in 12 weeks - something to ponder on.

Meantime, like everyone I have easter to navigate and we are going away to spain. Would like to come back no heavier. So I am going to take my running shoes and start the C25k programme and I am going to do strength and conditioing training - lunges, press ups and the like....lets see how I go

Hi suzybenz,

I would recommend allowing a bit more time for a two stone weight loss. 2 Stone is about 13 kilos and maximum recommended rate of weight loss is 1 kg a week (2.2 lbs).

By the time you have a few blips, an odd plateau or two, or whatever, I think I'd suggest you add perhaps 3 or 4 weeks to that.

The usual thing in Imperial measure, is to say a weight loss of 1 to 2 lbs a week, so that would make it 28 weeks at 1 lb a week.

If you made it, say, 16 weeks, it wouldn't really be all that fast.

And losing weight fast is not a good idea at all.

Hi

Well done, think about that 2 bags of sugar your not carrying 24 /7, thats great, and BMI moved down. More importantly blood pressure down and no pills, really great incentive to keep at it.

See your thinking right and planning ahead, taking your training gear to Spain, better weather to run and train. better weather for the pool as well so don't forget the swimming costume.

Plenty of good healthy food and avoid the paella and sangria, have a good time in spain.
