No results, less motivated...

Even though I know, that the diets and exercise plans may cause the temporary stoppage on the scale... And I repeat to myself - you should measure yourself not only weigh, exercising makes you gain muscle and the fat loss takes longer.... But I am so fixated to the weight numbers - that no changes make me a bit down.

I know how you feel! I was all geared up to start the 12 week plan, but after my first week, I saw hardly any difference on the scales! I have been feeling fuller though, ensuring I eat my three meals every day and I haven't been missing the junk food! But I was a little disappointed I didn't see better results on the scales!

Don't be disapointed, I've had two bad weeks (weeks 5 and 6) last week I did very little exercise with one thing or another then had to have a new boiler put in. So resorted to delivery Pizza Hut take-away on Friday, ate far more the should of, Sunday being Mothers Day my Youngest Daughter made me a surprised cooked breakfast in bed, I couldn't not eat it. Although I haven't lost any weight, I'm really pleased that I haven't gained any weight. I have been working out at home for the past four days with my weights, some-thing I haven't done for at least a year. and already I'm feeling better about myself.

Hi'

Dont be disappointed at all. your doing all the rights things, losing weight is one thing but, living healthier and eating better is also the aim, and your doing that. What i found was that fter a while you will understand your own body better, my weight wouldnt move alot for what seemed for ever, then suddenly every day on the scales was pay day. Stick with it and results will speak for themselves.

As you said your self youve ahd good food and havent missed the junk, isnt that a great achievement in its own right

Hi yrlith,

I do agree with Bkkbull, it works differently for different folk and we all get blips and spurts and often just can figure out the reasons why they happened.

I do have a couple of other thoughts for you. One is to slow down your eating. Oh and there is science in that. If you eat a meal in a few minutes, you'll eat the meal. If you eat a meal in say 20 minutes, you may well find you feel full before you've finished all of it. And that's just because, you will have given your body time to register the food going in and to react to it.

Thinking of us as modern people in cave dwellers' bodies - our ancestors weren't charging around like headless chickens all the time like we are and much of their food intake was foraging - picking fruits from bushes, etc. They didn't really do the sat down meal that much and even if they got a wild boar or something, they kind of picked at it, rather than ate it straight away. And that may just be why our feelings of being full take a bit of time to click in.

Similarly, is to have you meal in stages, rather than in one sitting. I never have a dessert just after eating a meal. It's always quite a while afterwards.

Perhaps you already do those.

Good luck.

Thank you all for the support, I needed that.

I am not going to give up. Maintaining the weight is easy for me - I just needed a little motivation kick form the measurable results on the scale. We shall see next week :)
