Motivated. And nothing else matters.

My very first post! I am really motivated. Especially that I will finish the 12 weeks before end of the year. I am tired of waiting until new year, Monday or that tomorrow that never comes.

I finished work late today. I printed week one and some recipes for tomorow and even though I was tired and in pain (burnt myself with boiling water few days ago) I stopped at Tesco and bought few ingredients for tomorrow'sbreakfast and lunch that I will take to work. I am nearly 18 stones. I am a tall person, but 18 stones and BMI of 35 scares me.

Wish me luck! I keep my fingers crossed for all of you!

Hi Koralina

Welcome to the NHS Weight Loss Forum. It's a very friendly, encouraging and helpful site, where we are all on the same journey to health.

If you haven't already, please read the Welcome Newbies post. It's in the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen, (bottom if you're on a mobile). It has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a great place to start. It doesn't give a specific diet plan, but gives guidelines for healthy eating. Also take a look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have. You may also like to check out how many calories you should have each day using the BMI checker.

Perhaps consider joining in our challenges, they're fun to do and help with motivation.

Join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you 'follow' Lowcal and moreless (our very approachable site Admins), you'll be notified when they post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page. The weigh in is entirely voluntary, but I find it helps keep me accountable.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration. 😄

Enjoy the forum, and I wish you success with your goals.

Good luck 😀

Hi and welcome Karolina :)

I like your "strike while the iron is hot" attitude, because, as you say, tomorrow never comes, if you procrastinate :)

Weigh yourself tomorrow morning, then register your weight on our weigh-in thread. Don't be put off by the fact that it's a monday weigh-in, because it remains open until 6pm on friday :)

I shall look forward to following your progress, onwards and downwards! :)

Koralina well done for joining. I joined yesterday and already feel more supported and accountable. Good luck with the next12 weeks 😀

Good luck Carolina. You're absolutely right that your time is now. You will learn a whole lot about yourself and your body as you go through the first 12 weeks. One thing I learned was which foods were relatively light on calories but left me feeling full. And which foods weren't.

And if you step off the wagon be kind to yourself and climb back on as soon as you can :-) Good luck. This is a fabulous forum.
