Week 2 after a blip and it's still bothering me...

I thought I'd just hop on and post today about my second week after a gain blip 2 weeks ago. Managed to correct and lose a bit more during the immediately following week so am waiting to see what the scales say tomorrow night. I'm hoping I can drop 2 pounds and hit my first stone but that blip is still at the back of my mind. A week where I didn't cheat much (one night out for dinner with a friend being the only time) but gained weight on the scales. The overall trend has been good, in total I'm 5%/6 kilos lighter than I was when I started WW but that blip gremlin is still there on my shoulder taunting me :-)

Been quite good this week, kept up my exercise though the week. Completed W2 of C25K and swam (in my own, rather slow style - but we all know the story of the hare and the tortoise) on my rest days but did have a bit of a lazy one yesterday, bit of laundry bit of housework but didn't stray too far from home. Did get an Indian last night but stayed away from creamy curries and picked tandoori chicken and chapattis which is one of the "healthier" takeaway option. Spent a good couple of hours wandering around a car showroom this afternoon, not high intensity exercise but up on my feet and walking though I couldn't face trying my outside run, it's just too cold for me out there.

Have to go face the scales tomorrow night and hope that I get a minus figure. I've kept the points down every day bar yesterday. Also stayed away from the Demon drink which for a Welshie during the 6 Nations is tough but have now made it through two matches on decaff coffee/herbal tea and no-sugar squash. Wondering if I can count the leaping off the sofa yelling offside or knock on as exercise - haven't so far but may look into this further as the old heart rate does go up from time to time watching my home nation play rugby.

Hope to be reporting good news tomorrow evening

HI Beth5,

" all together now, everyone join in.... Don't worry about the blip, focus on the trend! "

Don't stress yourself out about it all. Stress changes your hormones and reduces your ability to burn fat! No joking!

The dear lovely scales might just tell you that you need to fine tune your regime a bit. Well, that's not really a big problem, is it? And if it does, so you whip off a few extra calories here and there and up the exercise / activity a bit.

Oh and you missed a chance there - if you'd gone running in the cold, you'd have used up more calories to keep your body temperature up!

I've got the oposite problem at the moment - I'm trying to slow down the weight loss a bit......

(Any more of that Black Forest Gateaux and double cream going? - Yeah, you're right, it was in my dreams!)

Thanks Doikosp, trying to focus on the trend which is pretty good overall...

I was torn all morning about that run as just trying to keep my body temperature up normally is tough, cold office, cold outside and my heating is great for my Monday-Friday life but it's getting pretty chilly at home now. Cue entry to kitchen to conjure yummy (healthy) food.

If I can get some consistency it'll help but unfortunately as you've said previously weighing a living human isn't an exact science. Might try the old tape measure in case the exercise is building muscle, though this takes longer than acquiring fat so shouldn't be impacting me week on week...

Focusing on the trend not the blip and will report back...

Don't worry - I usually 'blip' every Sunday! But I'm still losing weight :-)

Hello,

Well done for not giving up! A gain is fine- If you think about it, your weight fluctuates anyway, and overall, you're still doing amazing. If you were to completely stop yourself eating everything you like, you won't stick to it in the long run- believe me I know!

Keep going, and good luck for your weigh in tomorrow :)
