I'm going to do it this time!

so, I am 40 and have 2 small children. Due to the running around I do I should be teeny tiny but unfortunately the weight has crept on! I have tried every fad diet but have decided to do it properly this time and am starting the 12 week programme on Monday. Really excited and looking forward to the challenge ahead!

Me too although I am 34 I feel a lot older. I would love to have more energy and feel comfortable in my own skin. Good luck!

Good luck to you too! I'm looking forward to having more energy and maybe fitting into some of the many pairs of jeans I have that can't fit into!

Hi Candyrock and mollytara,

Save me a bit of typing and read what I said to Anne Summer a bit earlier on.

Also on the NHS live well lose weight pages, theres a bit about the top 10 diets.

I've lost 9kgs since 11th January and feel so much better. O.K. that's not just the weight loss per se, it's also the exercise as well.

Whatever, I just wonder why I didn't start on this journey a long time previously.

Good luck with it.

Hi Johnniekoko,

If you go onto nhs.uk and at the top is a heading 'live well' and under that losing weight. It's a 12 week plan that you can print off and look at week by week. It's all about counting calories and exercising, but there are recipes you can follow if that helps. Good luck!

Hi Candyrock,

thx very much for your feedback, I'm a member of a gym with a swimming pool so that shoud be ok for the exercise bit, its the food bit that gets me, it dosent help when you have high cholesterol and a cheese freak into the bargain!!! I have cut it right down and the doc has changed me statin,so once again thank you.

John

Yes, afraid cheese is my downfall too but just remember, no food should be banned as long as it's in your allowed calorie intake! I'm starting tomorrow and my goal is to follow the plan for the 12 weeks and see how that goes!

Thank you! Wow, you've done really well! Well done! I do hope I'm as successful. The difference this time is I really want to do it, not only to feel better but to be healthier for my children too so I can run around with them without getting out of breath!

Hi Candyrock,

Well that's a good reason.

Personally. I see it like I'm now not carrying around, twenty four hours a day, 18 x 500g tubs of fat which I was when I started. I've got about another 34 to jettison!
