My first 5-days..

Still got 2 more days, before my first week ends. I have cut my eating habit to just a soup diet, and a chapati a day.

For breakfast I have one shredded wheat of 474 kcal,

I have no biscuits with tea.

Final my medications and keeping tabs on my sugar reading.

Doing my own cooking for a change.

Hi gogglomoglow,

Actually that sounds a bit drastic to me, but that might just depend on how much (and what kind of) soup you having each day and how many chapati's.

Two things I would say, first is it is not good to lose weight too quickly. About 1 kg (2.2lbs) a week is about right, though a lot of people lose more than that in the first couple of weeks.

Second, is that it's especially important when you're reducing weight to have a healthy, balanced diet with the full range of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, etc, etc.

If you need any help in the direction of doing that, then there's plenty of advice on the NHS live well lose weight pages - adapt it to suit your lifestyle to some degree, but stick to the principles of it.

Good luck with it.

Thank you, for the sound advice, i will look up the NHS live well weight pages. I was keen to get started. Good news is that this morning I weighed myself and found i had lost 2 kgs. I am looking forward this week in carrying on and take note of the Kcals, I am eating. On the average during this week I eaten 10 - 12. chapaties, but also fruit, lentils, as well. On the 5th day I started to feel bit hungry at night time. So kept some Glucose drink next to the bed, because of my diabetes. I am trying very hard to reduce on the fatty food. no more crisps, and samosas, and Indian sweets.

I too started the same day as you, but I am eating much more than you seem to be. So far I have lost 2 lbs., which I am very satisfied with. I have porridge and fruit with some chopped nuts for breakfast, homemade soup, a slice of bread and a yoghurt at lunch time, and I had a chicken curry, rice and veg with fruit afterwards for dinner yesterday. I think that the answer is to just moderate the portions you have.

Its seems that I managed to lose 2 kgs. Am I right to say 4, pound's and pleased with my self this morning. If I lose next 2 kgs, this week that would be good. Its hard I am lucky that my whole meal chapaties are quite filling, I also made my own homemade Mushroom and Potatoes curry soup. It also had an onion and tomatoes with spices as well. It tasted like better than chicken curry, I have been told, though i am a vegetarian. Still waiting for my waist line to reduce need to look at simple excises to do.
