Anyone have a hard time getting started on their weightless/health journey? I don't know if I'm just lazy, lack discipline or a combo of both, but I want so badly to make a change.
I keep planning for it and talking about it, but I've yet to put anything in motion. Why am I like this?
Anyone else struggle with this too?

Hi LavanderRoot and welcome back. No,you're definitely not alone, sometimes we just need a bit of a shove,in order to get going. I've been looking at work out videos since New Year but I'm still wivvering about it.
I suggest that you have a look at our pinned posts and begin by joining in with our Daily Diary and weekly weigh in.
Hi LavenderRoot,I have the same struggles but for lots of reasons now seemed like a good time to try again .
I see the struggles my elderly mum has now and it spurred me on to try this supportive group again.
I have a lot of weight to lose and I find being on steroids makes it slow going but I think what will help both of us is reaching out on the forum with thoughts and fears and of course our small achievements.
welcome back. You have made the biggest move and returned so you are now on your way to change. I came back last year and the group have really helped and motivated me. I find the weekly weigh in so supportive and helpful. I also join in with a few of the other forums, all so inclusive. Join the weekly weigh in. Lots of inspiration on there. Look forward to hearing from you
Make a start when you do your next grocery shop . You can only eat what you buy . Do a few swops for more fresh avoiding any of those cheeky snacks and think meal by meal . Could you have eggs for breakfast ? What about canned fish ? Cottage cheese is my lazy food but I buy plain and add herbs , spices , raw pepper and onion then have with a mound of salad as I can’t starve myself . What’s for the evening meal - maybe try some canned beans as lentils , kidney beans are really filling . Buy brown rice / pasta if you are balancing your food . Depends what eating plan you are going to follow . Think drinks too . Try more water. Milky coffee was a killer for me but try fruit tea . If you can’t stand it then my husband puts a tiny amount of low cal cordial in his and it stops him getting those fizzy drinks . Treat this as lifestyle. I don’t do diets .
Hi you're definitely not alone finding it hard! My best advice is to find a really powerful WHY? Like for me, the motivation comes from wanting to be healthy. At the moment, I'm pre-diabetic, my blood pressure is extremely high and I'm obese. I want to turn those things around. That's what keeps me WANTING to eat healthy. The support here is amazing. Not just for weightloss, but there's a monthly food challenge for example, which is helping me learn to cook from scratch and enjoy trying new flavours. I literally never cooked before, but now 95% of my meals are homemade.
There's also fitness groups. And a reading group that's fun. I find the more active I am on here, the more motivated I am.
Best of luck to you and hopefully see you around the forum!
Lots of us have been there, LavenderRoot! Personally, I have to set a Start Day, usually a few days ahead to give me time to plan meals and shopping and to use up foods outside the plan. I choose a date when I know I have no social engagements for a while. Join in the weekly Weigh in - people will be there to hand-hold and give you confidence. See you there - you can do it!
