Weight loss: Can't get motivated to... - Weight Loss Support
Weight loss
Hello, Isracaitmeliss, and welcome to the forum
The good news is that we have many members who have successfully lost weight while being unable to do much exercise; weight loss (and gain) is far more related to what we eat. I'm not dismissing the value of exercise but maybe, for now, you could think of it in terms of activity - being a little more active each week - rather than setting unrealistic goals.
And so to food. You say you don't eat much so it's probably down to what you eat, rather than how much. You'll find plenty of ideas here, particularly on the Daily Diary and Springers Specials. These are two of our Pinned Posts and you'll find them all here healthunlocked.com/weight-l...
We've found that active participation is the key to success so I hope you'll explore all those posts and join in as much as possible. Meanwhile, here's a simple weight loss plan based on real food: that could be a good starting point phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...
Hi Isracaitmeliss, it can be hard to start being active after a long time being sedentary. Rather than thinking you need to jump back into exercise classes or running, you could just look for more opportunities to be active in every day situations. Get up and walk around the house when you realise you've been sitting for a long time. Do a few stretches while making coffee. Just being more aware and starting with really small things can be a great place to start a journey to getting back into exercise
I have always been overweight for most of my life, sometimes its easier to accept we can only control our weight. I just had a bad experience of losing weight , I was given a cancer diagnosis and given radiotheraphy to date since July I have lost a stone in weight . But of course I would not recommend radiotheraphy as a means to weight loss as it causes other problems and would you believe neither the hospital or my GP as mentioned my weight since the cancer diagnosis. So have a look at the replies on your post and see if they may help in my case the only food that was reduced during radiotherapy was potatoes & bread. exercise is out as my lungs can't work as well now. If you have a garden do9 a few laps like in the lock down. Little and often works better. Good Luck.
Welcome. I agree with what has been said already about food and excercise. I would add that the best way to make friends on here is to join in with some of the different threads, offer support to others and post regularly. Perhaps the daily diary is a good place to start, you get to see what others are eating, have a bit of chat and often have a bit of a laugh.
