If you have access to netflix this film is a very interesting watch, sciency but very clear and entertaining, accessible even if your not very science minded. A couple of yucky (don’t try this at home!) moments but very well presented - I loved the ’wooly’ graphics. Talks about gut health in relation to different eating issues including weightloss struggles. Fascinating.

Sadly a lot of foodie , nutrition and touching on science programmes seem to promote the in products at the moment . When I delved into one I found a link to someone who actually worked for a company that manufactured probiotic diary products but it didn't say this for the viewers . I will watch this with interest though so thanks for the heads up . As I wander around this site I have gained loads of tips , knowledge and a common thought that for me a balanced diet - a bit of everything is working - not a focus on 1 product or group but this seems right up my street.

I’m watching ’you are what you eat’ a twin study at the moment -interesting, but ep 2 is not for the faint hearted looking at the grisly world of food production in the US .

Although the US is highlighted I can see this as a global venture to feed the world. My son worked for a time as a student in the airline food industry . I think there would be a great under cover documentary especially where he worked although can't comment on all of them . I worked in a 'high class ' gym as a cook a few years ago and we promoted healthy dishes . We freshly grilled quality steak , sprinkled on fresh herbs but underneath was a premade microwavable noodle dish with a highly processed sauce but I was told it was for portion control and consistency . That is 1 example . We used a lot of ready meals as a base and for swift service.
