Hi

I worked 4 jobs... I commuted.. I took energy in its most obvious and conveneient way i.e. sugar...I help bring up three kids... I thought I could postpone my weight fitness issue until I retired...I retired, the Teachers Pension messed up my pension...I spent months sitting by the phone finally resolved... my exercise had to wait....I was lacking in energy....diagnosed with cirrhosis... tried to take my life drowning, etc.....mental hospital .....brief recovery....anti depressants and anti psychotics put weight on even when I exercised ....tried to take my life again....sectioned under part 2.....kept in under section 3....came out...apparantly liver had 'stabiilised'...asked if I had cirrhosis why I was not recieving 6 month monitoring.......ignored by the Consultant....asked again email read to me by secretary 'Mr R has to accept that he has cirrhosis....' still no monitoring.....came off anti psychotics...started walking....started receiving testosterone......left mental health services....threw away anti depressants (please do not do this but it is my story so I am being honest)....finally spoke to a specialist liver nurse....she just happened to pick up the phone.....fibroscan within a week no cirrhosis..........began to believe......lost weight down to 124 kg.................found a fb advert 42 day challenge..............pay 399 pounds.........3 circuits a week..............strict diet..........limited carbs........before 1pm............fish..........less than 5% fat meatballs........egg whites..........protein shakes ................4.5 litres of water a day.........If you lose 20lbs in weight or 6% body fat in 42 days paid back...added swimming.....lost 24lbs and 6% body fat.........money paid back.........7/12/23 112kg..........swimming and fitness classes......went to costa de luz for 7 weeks.............swimming pool and sea..walking ........surfing..........kayaking........tennis....came back......circuits..........my son bought me a garmin watch for crimbo. 36 hour fast 5pm sunday to 5am just protein shakes.....I aim to eat within an 8 hour window every day...............no bread...........no milk...............yoghurt..........4.5 litres of water..... now I WANT TO EXERCISE................NOT just NEED TO EXERCISE!

My fitness age is 56 my actual age is 60, my blood pressure is 107/72......my resting heart rate is 50bpm...........when I swim I aim for an average of 135bpm over 30 minutes.....I swim 1000 m every day ....best time 24 minutes......

Caveats, it is dangerous to cut out carbs if you actually have cirrhosis, the body wastes your muscles if the liver does not function. I began my weight loss journey after I was given an all clear on the liver. By a corollary, getting fat will very likely lead to cirrhosis lose weight before you are trapped in a carbo need.

I threw away my anti depressants, dont do this come off them slowly.

In the words of our great and much maligned war leader

Never give up, never give in!
