Wegovy side effects.

With the support and knowledge of my GP I am taking Wegovy for weight loss purchased privately through Boots Doctors Online. It has been most effective and I’ve had no adverse side effects to date. However, I’ve stayed on the lower dose - 0.5mg injection - for two months because I contracted a virus infection and it was decided to wait until that was gone before I go up to the next dose. The appetite control effect has entirely disappeared in the final two weeks of the lower dose. I’m hoping when I increase to the 1.0mg injection shortly that effect will return. Has anyone else had this happen?

Hello and welcome to our forum. I'm sorry I don't know anything about Wegovy. There may be people here who have tried it and can comment. However we are not medically qualified and I would suggest going back to your GP with your query.

In the meantime here is a link to all the information you will need about the forumhealthunlocked.com/weight-l.... Do have a good look around and read all the links. You might like to start by posting your start weight on the Weigh In.

Watching what you are eating is the best way to lose weight. Do you have a plan such as calorie counting? Whatever works for you you will get lots of support here. The more you can join in the better.

The title of your post indicated you were asking about side effects but then the post said you hadnt experienced any. I dont want to rain on your parade but, if youre unaware of the possible side effects now and in future (some very serious) and want to know, please search some of my comments on other wegovy/semaglutide posts or alternatively ask.

I can understand trying "a pill for all ills" but everyone should consider both the risks and benefits for any medical intervention i.e. a "risk-benefit analysis".

hi, I am staying in the lower dose due to being unwell a few weeks ago, I have experienced nausea, sickness and constipation hence I am staying on 0.5 but my appetite has reduced substantially and I even leave longer than 7 days between doses, due to the nausea effects but I am losing - slowly than first but still losing and I feel sick if I overeat xxx

As long as you're aware of potential, serious side effects not just the mild ones you've already experienced.

If not, I can send scientific evidence. Feel free to send me a private message for that if you prefer where I can also advise on sustainable weight loss without drugs.

If it works for you then that’s all that matters . Personally the injections alone and the unaffordable cost would - without anything else put me off it. I was impressed with recent Michael Mosley 4 part series where he didn’t push any particular diets down our throats but looked at gut health and primarily under cover at a supermarket caught then analysed what was in the participants weekly food shop. Tweaking their food to largely unprocessed foods and cutting the sugar , white carbs and what they considered healthy snacks like sugary yoghurt and low fat crisps took impressive inches from waistlines and had good results when digestion was analysed via samples and measured blood tests .

Coupled with what you have chosen I would say watch this as a guide . Appetite suppressants to me wouldn’t work long term as I love my food but good healthy food . This is a good guideline as it doesn’t advocate not eating nor push drugs at people and it isn’t crazily scientific.

Healthy eating shouldn’t be punishing or starving yourself but I can understand to get motivated some choose alternatives but please don’t become dependent on this . Now you have managed to control portion sizes then just eat properly without medication. I feel if you do this indefinitely and independently you will see a difference both physically and psychologically . I would blend with a walking programme then look for other options like a gentle swim or try Pilates , Yoga and my fave - mad Zumba .

Not what you're looking for?
