Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a great Christmas. I’ve just stumbled upon this website whilst I was looking for help losing weight after Christmas. I’m Max, a 23 year old guy from Berkshire and I’m overweight and needing to lose weight.

I’ve been overweight since my childhood but the weight has really piled on in the last 5 years or so and I now weigh well over 24 stone now. Enough is enough, my weight only goes up and up and I really struggle to keep it under control. I eat too much, the wrong stuff and exercise is something I don’t do.

Looking for help!

Hi you sound like someone that loves his food (me too) and a plate of lettuce just will not cut it!

If you concentrate on low carbs you can have really big plate fulls and you don't get the constant hunger pangs, might be worth a thought. Good luck 🤞

The key to easy weight loss is stopping your blood sugar from spikng as that increases your insulin levels (insulin triggers fat storage) the blood sugar spike also releases the hunger hormone which will increasse and intensify hunger pangs. The way to keep your blood sugar levels from spiking is to avoid carbohydrates especialy processed ones like bread, sugar and fruut juices

Hi Max,

Fellow brit here although I'm a bit more advanced in age haha! I actually have family in Hungerford!

I realise it can be daunting getting started and you are doing the right thing by looking for support and accountability.

As a man, I know it can feel difficult looking for help as dieting was seen as a female dominated industry for so long, and the answer for men was to "suck it up and get down the gym"... but knowing the impact being overweight can have on how you feel emotionally, sucking it up isn't always possible.

Do you have a plan in mind to follow in order to begin losing weight? I think it's really important to know how you can do it, and then make small changes and aim for a small amount to lose first. Don't add pressure by only focusing on the finish line.

Not what you're looking for?
