Hi everyone 1st post in this forum!

April saw me restart my weight loss journey! I have lost 4.5 this month! It does doesn’t sound a lot but it is to me!

Normally I am a very active and have a very active job!

Unfortunately I had a serious accident on the last day of January! The whole of February & March I did not move very far at all. At the beginning of April I began to be more mobile and realised all my joints were stiff even short walks were making my back ache! So I formulated a plan of action!

I started doing C25K from the 2nd week of May! Took back control of the cooking as my husband had been doing that for 2 months!

The first week I lost 3lb Whoop whoop!

second week 0.5lb. This week I have lost 1lb!

My health is improving and I am starting week 5 of C25K!

I have identified my danger points! When doing nothing I tend to graze! When I wake up at night with the munchies!

I have also realised I don’t eat enough vegetables or fruit! So I am really trying to improve it all!

Hello and very warm welcome! Any loss it's a step in the right direction and it's better slow and steady, anyway. Well done! I'm sorry to hear about your accident, but it does sound that the worst is behind you now. It also sounds that you are working at noticing what is getting in a way and dealing with it. Hope to see you around, joining with our various Events and Challenges. Please have a look at our Pinned Posts, where you can find all that is going on here on the forum healthunlocked.com/weight-l...

If you have any questions, just ask :)

this one is definitely helpful, speaking from my personal experience :) people use it differently, some benefit greatly from Daily Diary, some from Weigh Ins, some from challenges, but there's always someone around for support :) it's always great to know that we are not the only ones to have a particular problem, otherwise it often feels lonely..

Thank you! I have managed to get him on board with my weight loss as well! He’s also trying out my weight loss meals! So far he likes my crust less quiche! 😂

Hello BGood, brilliant, my husband has lost weight whilst I have been on my journey, if I don't have crisps he doesn't, things like that, so he shares my sliced up apple instead of crisps to go with a sandwich. We have become healthier eaters together, and that is nice. One of my biggest things is the weighing of everything, I was astounded at how much I was eating but not anymore, everything is weighed before I eat it and, for me anyway, it works. I keep saying I have never made a quiche and I must do, new potatoes and a salad would go lovely with it. I will find a recipe and do it this week. Thank you. Take care and have fun. Xx

I comend you on yor intention to increase consumption of veg especially the dark leafy green varieties which are packed with vitamins and minerals. even better is to regularly eat leafy green salad which is high in potassium which will benefit your blood pressure.

Where I don't agree is that you need to inrease consumpion of fruit in general. Much of modern fruit is bred to be ultra sweet (e.g. seedless grapes and many apple varieties) by being high in fructose which goes straight to the liver to be turned into trigycerides which are the building blocks of body fat and a driver of cardiovascular disease. The best fruit to eat are berries such as blueberries which are low in fructose and high in fibre and antioxidants.
