Hi, I keep reading about how this works really well for weight loss. I need to lose 2/3 stone. I don’t eat meat so do rely a lot on pasta and bread especially with working full time (toast for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, pasta for tea). I need advice and motivation!! Any tips??

Low carb/high protein diet
Hi and welcome, Brewdog
Are you sure you don't mean low carb, high fat? Too much protein will be converted to fat, just as much as too much carbohydrate.
Do you eat fish, eggs, dairy? You can get lots of meal ideas from both our Daily Diary and our recipe Topics.

I am a vegetarian. I have discovered by calorie counting it was more that I was eating too much carbohydrate and fat like cheese. I am weighing my ingredients and surprisingly being more creative about what I eat
Olive oil was something I used too much of and Hummus had way more calories than I though
I am eating less but better and drinking more water and I rarely feel hungry between meals. Having tried those diets in the past as soon as you loose the weight I revert back to bad habits.
Calorie counting makes you more aware of what you eat and can still have the occasional treat.
Stay strong
Why not try some spiralised vegetable to replace some of the pasta?
It's really nice! I started by buying some preprepared butternut squash from Aldi.
Most supermarkets sell it - usually near the bags of salad.I have now got a little gadget to do my own at home.
Courgette, carrot and beetroot are also very tasty. Also a good way to cram in some of the '5 a day'.
I bet you won't be disappointed if you give it a go! 😊
Hello! I have the exact same problem! I have been trying to find different nice recipes which are low carb to try, and have treated myself to a few nice cook books. I tend to resort to old faves when I'm busy so i'm hoping that having new easy recipes in my arsenal will help. But can't say for sure yet as I'm early stages. Sound like a good idea? i guess I'll find out!
