I have been trying to lose weight for 2 -3 years, and every time I always gave up after the first or second week, just rarely did I manage to lose weight I would give up and gain double the weight that I lost. Every time I start a diet I stop doing it after 3 days. I don't have motivation so I need to learn how to have discipline, instead of always giving up and giving myself reasons why I gave up. For diet, I am going to stop eating snacks and junk food, and it 1 - 2 times a day instead of the proper 3 times a day meal, for that since I don't get the discipline to stop eating I am going to put all my snacks in a box or give them away. I really hope I have the discipline for this, I am going to start going to the gym with 3 of my friends 3 times a week and I need to know what cardio workouts should I learn and what gym workouts I should do to lose weight.
My plan is for the workout anytime I go to the gym:
Stretch: 5 min
Cardio: 10 - 20 minutes
Treadmill: 20 - 30 minutes
Actual Gym workout: 30 - 40 minutes
Bike: 10 minutes
The gym workouts, I don't know what workouts I am actually going to do, because I am going to the gym 3 days a week, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. And I don't know if I need to separate which days I work on arms and all that. And for the rest of the days like Monday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays no jumping because I will be at home, and when I am in school I will try to get as many walks in as possible and next year join the sports team. I just need discipline and a routine, and I feel like having someone supporting me and checking up on me will give me the motivation and discipline I need. I don't know what to do, and I just need advice, I get embarrassed easily and the only reason why I am going to the gym with friends was that they asked me.

If you enter into a diet and exercise routine that is too demanding, you'll be setting yourself up to fail. The most important thing for you to do is to concentrate on a healthier, but sustainable way of life. Find a form of exercise that you enjoy - some people love the gym, others, including me, find it akin to purgatory. Maybe walking, tennis, cycling, or swimming would be more your 'thing' and something that you'll still enjoy doing in 10 years time.
Cutting out snacks and junk food is a great idea, but maybe unsustainable 100% of the time. You may be more likely to keep it up, if you relax the rules sometime and behave like a teenager with your friends
We'll be here to support and encourage you all the way and if you have a look at our pinned posts healthunlocked.com/weight-l... you'll find that we have lots of events, clubs and challenges set up to make things easier for you.
Looking forward to seeing you around and following your journey
It sounds like you have given this a lot of thought and planned much of what you need/want to do. I am a big fan of planning as I think if you have a clear direction of travel then the journey is likely to have less detours. However, I think you need to be careful not to make things too rigid, as if you make a small error, there is the tendency to think ‘well that’s it, I am not following my plan, I may as well give up altogether!’ Also, you are planning a lot of exercise on two meals a day and no snacks - you will doubtless be hungry and it’s very difficult to stick to something making you feel uncomfortable. If you are hungry some of the time or a lot of the time, you are probably making it tougher on yourself than it needs to be.
You sounded a bit cross with yourself for your diet failures in the past and maybe you are punishing yourself now with this rigid diet and exercise routine. I wonder if this is the right mindset to enter your plan with and whether a less prescriptive plan, gently getting yourself into the habit of regularly exercising first as an example before making any real changes to your diet (great that you have friends to go to the gym with - that’s so helpful) might be less punishing for you and much more likely to be sustainable. You then bring in the dietary changes say in a month when your exercise habit is more established for you.
I would also suggest trying to develop a more positive attitude toward yourself and how you have got here. Be kinder to yourself.
Anyway, these are merely my observations and however way you choose to lose weight I wish you well. Everyone’s weight loss journey starts with losing the first lb or kg - you just need to continue with the trajectory and keeping adding another and another…you will get there I’m sure.
I like group exercise so Zumba is great . You Tube do good free classes which will help master the steps .Stamina / cardio -I have a plastic step . 30 mins of that and it tones your legs but combine arms and wow - you will see . 2 meals a day = for me something unsustainable. No wonder you give up . No snacks and I could aim for 1400+ cals easily with 3 balanced meals . Combined with exercise too - I wouldn’t skip or blood sugars could be low . You will feel low and starved. I would try and do more as a group . Do your friends like a walk ? Don’t forget water too . This will help avoid the snacks . You have really good ideas but don’t be so hard and don’t punish yourself.
