Thank you for the welcome message. I’m very new to the site and only just about navigating my way around.. I’m very interested in losing a bit of weight and also finding out what changes in my diet may help me.
Now this is going to sound like I’m thick but bear in mind I’m 61 years old with no social media skills so forgive me if I don’t reply to any posts at the moment. It’ll just be because I’m lost somewhere else on this site 🤪
Looking forward to being a more active member soon x

Hi LostMyWay and welcome to the weight loss forum. This is a very large community with lots going on, we find that participation is the key to success. The pinned posts is a very good place to begin. Just click on the link below, scroll down until you find something that interests you and click on the title.
I hope you join the Daily Diary, there's lots of delicious ideas there.
When you have decided your “weigh in day”, join one of the weekly weigh ins too.
If you plan to be counting calories please run your data through the NHS site, to calculate your BMI (Body Mass Indicator) and with that obtain your daily calorie allowance.
I’m just joining this group too. I feel like I should have your name as I really did “lose my way” trying to post on this site😂 ( I am a proper dinosaur..! ) Pleased that I got here in the end. Best of luck to you and hope this week goes well x
I'm 61 too and I get there in the end! This is a great group, I've lost 2 stone so far and it's really really supportive - I weigh in the weekly weigh-in's and we encourage each other
Thank you very much for the lovely message. I’m so pleased that you’ve done so well, that’s an amazing loss. My only reservation to the group is that I haven’t found it easy to find my way around the site. That’s not the site mind you, it’s the fact that I’m useless 😂 at the moment I’m on a sole source liquid diet which works well for me but obviously it’s not for everyone. I’ve decided for now and because I have a lot going on, health wise to just dip in and out and familiarise myself with the site. Everyone was so helpful to me and encouraging when I first joined… looking forward to hopefully participating properly very soon x
Hi, I totally understand and I got VERY cross initially because I just couldn't work it out. It isn't quite the same as facebook.
You can, like you did post a general post and everybody sees it and can, or not reply.
You can join a group, mine was initially Wednesday Wobblers but as the world opened up more it's now a weekly group called 'Weigh in for the week --- ---er'. There you read the admin post which is very encouraging and inspiring and then you reply to her or him (sorry not very pc), with your weight, encourage 3 others above you and stop unless you are chatty like me. You go up by pressing the up arrow and you reply not to the original admin but e.g. to my weight post. They close part one after a day or so and start part 2 and then you can only like a post.
You can join other groups like the lose xxlb before Christmas, Easter, end of the year etc..
This site isn't quite as well put together as fb but on the whole it's far far nicer - we don't say horrible things to each other it's all about being kind AND I don't think there is the development money fb has; and we aren't plastered with adverts.
Keep looking around and finding out, you can always find an old post of mine and say hullo if that helps!!!! Join or not it's a great place to be.
Love your user name. I struggled with the site navigation at first as well and I class myself as fairly competent social media wise. Practice makes perfect 😁
