Hi and welcome, Elsa777 :)

Many of us follow a low carb way of eating, but most don't stick to ketogenic beyond the first couple of weeks as it can feel quite restricted. Here are some things for you to look at and you'll be able to see all the different meal plans that are being followed on our Daily Diary.

Hi Elsa777, I hope all goes well with starting your weightloss journey and new way of eating.

I enjoy eating keto , and generally follow a low carb way of eating. It seems to suit me well.

Here is a link to the LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) forum which has loads of information and discussions as well, on keto and low carb.

It used to be more chatty like this lovely forum... but all the info there is still helpful.

Best wishes, and hope to see you around on this forum :-)

I've been on pretty strict keto diet for seven years. It IS somewhat restrictive...but maybe that's why it works so well. I'm not good with "just a little bit of this and then I'll stop"

On the other hand, it is not SO restrictive: there is no type (or amount of) green vegetable I won't eat, no type of nut or cheese or meat. I have as much full fat dairy as I want (full cream, that is, no plain milk). I also eat berries.

The other thing is, as time has marched on, there are lots and lots of new products on the market that are pretty good substitutes: zero carb bread, ice cream, pasta...and the thing about keto is that you can eat much more of them than when you are counting calories.

Anyway, it's worked for me. I've lost weight and kept it off. Though, I also intermittent fast.

Not what you're looking for?
