It is not that it has been a particularly tough couple of weeks, it is just no weight has shifted recently. I know why. I heard Stephen Fry on QI once say, “Weight is all about what you put in your mouth.” It is a simplistic approach but I thought it was really funny and so true.
More recently I have heard him say he has lost his weight due to the eight-mile walks he does each day and also his sensible eating habits have helped. Possibly that is more realistic for many of us, some exercise and sensible eating habits. Stephen has gone down from twenty-one stone to fifteen stone. Still heavier than I have ever been, but you should never compare yourselves to others.
I know I can lose my last seven pounds, but I have been eating more recently. I am not putting weight on I am just not losing those last seven pounds. I do not want to get back into bad habits.
I, therefore, have chosen this week’s song as, “I guess that’s why they call it the blues!” I still love the song.
#
Don't wish it away
Don't look at it like it's forever
Between you and me I can honestly say
That things will only get better
#
And while I'm away
Dust out the demons inside
And it won't be long before you and me run
To the place in our hearts where we hide
#
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands should be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
#
Just stare into space
Picture my face in your hands
Live for each second without hesitation
And never forget I'm your man, Mary Mary
#
Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself
#
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands should be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
#
Wait on me boy (Wait on me girl)
I Want You To Cry in the night if it helps (yeah)
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself
#
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands (time on my hands) should be time spent with you
Laughing like children (laughing like children), living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
#
Laughing like children
Living like lovers Elton, living like lovers
#
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
