Struggling snack magnet

During civid I said to myself I'm going to stick to a healthy eating plan. Started the couch to 5k programme, excerisigng more, moat days start of with a health breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sometime food prep is good, planning meals, bulk cooking. My weightloss is very slow if I lose a 1lb a month thats ok. But why when I have a bad week I may put on 2lbs or more😔. This week I've purchased some protein whey products to help as I always seem to be hungry. Any ideas guys.

Hello and welcome back, great to have you with us. Well done on starting the couch to 5k !

If you're constantly hungry and end up snacking I would try to make my meals bigger filling up on lots of veggies, healthy fats and some protein.

We hope you'll be joining us on all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weekly weigh in and the Daily Diary, the best places to give and receive advice, support and bucket loads of encouragement.

Here's the link to Pinned Posts where you'll find them all, Good Luck and hope to see you around! :-) x

If you've increased your exercise, feeling the urge to snack, and not losing any weight, the most likely reason is either (a) you're not eating adult-sized meals or (b) you're eating far too many carbs - bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, fruit, etc - and not enough proper food.

Try to fill up your plate with veg and then add meat, eggs or dairy according to your preferences. Avoid the stodge wherever possible, and avoid fake food like "low fat" products (which are invariably full of things that make you fat), prepackaged sauces and dips, and food substitutes (eg., protein shakes!).

Eat until you are full. Never, ever eat less than you think you really need - all that will happen is that your body will compensate for the lack of food by holding onto bodyfat (because it thinks there's a famine coming).

Oh, and get the snacks out of the house. If they're not there then (a) you can't eat them and (b) you'll have more motivation to prepare proper meals.
