Hi all, starting week 4 and so far lost 5.25 lbs. Was hoping to lose more by now. Problem is fitting in runs in the evening as once my son goes bed I'm busy preparing for tomorrow etc...anyone have similar issues. I'm not sure if I can manage a 5:30 am run but might try tomorrow

Hi :-) I'm sorry that you're not seeing the results that you want but I don't thin it's down to the exercise issue. While I plan to start exercising again, over the last few weeks I haven't done anything more than walk a bit further and do some stepping on the wi-fit base while watching TV and I have lost over a stone.

I think if you push yourself to commit to running at 5.30 in the mornings you will come to resent this and give up so focus on the eating side of things and I am sure that you'll see results :-)

Bigleg is right re cutting carbs; my only carbs now are fruit, (lots of) veg and porridge for breakfast (big oat flakes for lower GI) and other than that I eat fish and quorn, eggs, cheese and nuts. I am v rarely hungry and I'm really enjoying eating good food :-)

I really wish you well - good luck.

The trick is to do it out of habit but there is a bit of pain to get through. Namely thinking you're too tired when you get up. I began yoga at 5:30am and felt surprisingly fine and able to catch the 7am bus to commute. It is possible, your body will like you for it when your mind lets you. You can do it. But also be happy when you decide not to get up after doing a few. You're allowed to ease yourself in. Beating yourself up at any stage means you should breathe in for a moment and breathe out slowly until the stupid thoughts pass. Good luck.

5lb in 4 weeks is still amazing, half an hour run before you start getting ready is probably the way to do it before you get tired or can make an excuse. How old is your son? Maybe put him to bed 1/2 hour early some days, tell him he should read, good for him good for you

Hi ashleymillard, my son is nearly 2 so he has a bit of a routine. Difficult to change it up, I did not manage a run this morning but noticed that a Parkrun has finally started in Melton on a Saturday so I will go to that as I used to do it every week when I lived in Leicester.
