Battling my weight.

I am new on this group. Age 56, 5ft, 19st 8, BMI 53. Had a heart attack December 19 whilst on holiday in Morocco. No illness beforehand no signs. 3 stents fitted. I have been trying to lose weight since I was 18 which is when I started to gain weight, I have been a member of nearly all the slimming clubs and always only ever managed to loose a stone or just over. Then back to square one again. I thought having the HA would have scared me to death and give me the jolt but I do a few days and give in. I comfort/emotionally eat. That's me in a nutshell.

Hi and welcome, Strutty65 :)

Sorry to hear about your heart attack and struggles with your weight, maybe these could help? healthunlocked.com/weight-l... and healthunlocked.com/api/redi... and doctoraseem.com/the-truth-a...

All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and we hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Thanks very much x

Hi Strutty65, welcome to the forum! I know it's tough but you've been given a second chance, please don't waste it with old habits that don't serve you well. There's lots of support here, and ways to cope with stress and emotions that are really healthy and don't involve food: journaling, getting outside, going for a walk, having more "me time", talking to a friend... I'm not saying it's easy changing your habits; I'm in my 50s too and still struggling with it, but I do think it's possible if you really want to change, and become healthier/love and respect yourself more. All that. And joining here shows you're ready! You can totally do this! 💛
