Yes in theory but nowhere near as much more as you are probably thinking/hoping. Run a mile fairly fast and you'll probably have used enough to have an extra apple and maybe a few grapes.

Sue the saying 'you can't outrun a bad diet' comes to mind. If only it were that easy!

Weight loss is mostly down to what we consume, not how much exercise we do. I agree with slipstick.

Indeed, another lovely adage is that weight-loss starts in the kitchen. Or something along those lines.

I tried to literally outrun a bad diet and it didn’t work at all.

Hi, I love and definitely agree with that saying ‘you can’t Outrun a bad diet’. But I do think you can still improve your health with exercise and counter some of the effects of a bad diet albeit making healthy changes to your diet intake simultaneously is even better and it all the small changes helps. Exercising more does expend more energy therefore you can eat more but you have to do a lot of it for example if I increase my steps (walking) by An extra 10,000 taking about an hour and a half it only allows me to eat about an extra 400 or so calories without worrying about it impacting my weight. But of course there are a lot more other benefits to be gained by adding an extra 10,000 steps than just weight maintenance
