Sounds good I just seem to keep cooking with chicken and living in a household with grown up children who live off takeaways and crap is hard lol

Same here but have downloaded the nhs meal plan have loads of ideas as I tend to cook roast chicken dinners most days it was nice to have something totally different and healthy too.

Oh yes, nothing like the whiff of something that you are trying to do without torture our taste buds on is there? Do you enjoy fish? I love sea food especially prawns. I am sure you will be inundated with ideas of all sorts of lovely recipes which you could batch cook and fill your freezer with, but one of my favourites is a steak, sirloin with green vegetables or a salad. Yummy!

When I'm being healthy, I find an Alpro Dessert pot (under 100 calories) or banana with peanut butter helps reduce cravings. It would be best to not have them but they're much healthier than eating biscuits or cake. Maybe you could experiment and find something sweet (but not high in sugar or calories)?

Hello and welcome, Greendream123 😊

New month, new start :)

This is a great place for information and support and you'll see members following a variety of plans. For me, your Alpro Dessert wouldn't come into the healthy category when I look at the ingredients. The following is for the Dark Choc Dessert.

Soya Base (Water, Hulled Soya Beans (6.4%)), Sugar, Cocoa (3%), Modified Starch, Chocolate (1%), Calcium (Tri-Calcium Phosphate), Flavouring, Thickener (Carrageenan), Sea Salt, Vitamins (B2, D2)

As for craving, there's a useful article here well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013...

This is a good, straightforward plan: phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

You'll find all our groups and activities in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... , plus a Welcome message. A good place to start is with a weekly weigh-in on the day of your choice, and the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans.

This gives you a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true and, along with Pinned Posts, will show you how things work. Active participation can be a great boost to your own efforts so I hope you'll become an active member and we will see you joining in around the forum 😊

PS the app doesn’t give access to all parts of the forum so we advise everyone to get rid of the app and log on to the full website using the browser on their phone

Yes usually it's a low fat Muller rice

I do a lot of curry type dishes. Even vegie ones! Chick pea and spinach, thai chicken curry too. If you are making things like bolognese roast the mince in the oven till it looks like coffee granules and drain the fat off. Cauliflower rice is good, more veg less carbs whack loads of spices in it too. Salad Nicoise with tuna or salmon. Lentil soup (look up tarka dhal) is good and filling for lunch, squeeze of lemon on top. Just some ideas off the top of my head

Thanks Hun I think it's just where I'm at work all day by the time I get home the inspiration has gone and a chicken stir-fry,curry is simple and quick

You could try something like a home made Balti base frozen in portions. Then make it up with fish, lamb, chicken, prawns or veggies. Put loads of peppers, onions etc on for flavour bulk and 5 a day. Microwaved popadums are pretty low cal.

Hiya cupcakes.

I don't know what I'd do I your situation, it'd be way harder in an environment full of junk food that was out of my control.

Maybe taking an interest in healthy eating and trying to spark the same interest in them might be a good way forwards. You might find something helpful here - empoweringparents.com/artic...

You'll hear a lot here that it's more about a lifestyle change and changing your relationship with food for a long lasting change. I think that's very true.

Some participation, patience and perseverance should get you where you want to be with time x
