My strongest advice would be to ignore everything that you doctor or other medical advisor is tell you, and go low carb, high fat.
Check out diet doctor..
Hi Mollie, welcome to the weight loss forum. May I suggest that you spend some time finding your way around. This is a very large forum with lots of different links. Use the website as opposed to the app until you know your way around.
The best way is participating, the Daily Diary is a great place to begin. You'll find the DD in the pinned posts.
Good luck with your weight loss journey.🍀
Hello Mollie, as you appear to be using a picture of yourself and your real name you may like to take a read of this,

Wishing you good luck on your weight loss journey
Biggest tip I can think of is to read around recent 'Daily Diary' and 'Weigh-In' threads so you can see what people are up to and which strategies people are finding successful.
A 3 stone loss is perfectly viable. Much depends on the type of food you like (and don't) and the exercise you like (and don't). Then prioritise the healthiest of the food you enjoy and most preferable exercise, which makes the process an agreeable thing to do.
Don’t eat sugar.
Don’t eat in secret.
Eat full fat Greek yoghurt.
Lots of fruit with a slice of toast with tomato and olive oil or poached egg for breakfast and always fruit after meals...melon is great for this purpose.. For lunches go with quinoa salads with avocado and a soft boiled egg with freshly chopped tomatoes and rock salt olive oil.... chicken or fish fillets skinned on a grill or pan fried with a little garlic and olive oil with vegetables ....a small dessert once every 2 or 3 days... a stawberry tart or a scoop of chocolate ice cream to kill sweet cravings... Swim every other day.. join the couch to 5k program. This routine never fails to work for me when a couple of kilos creep up. With this regime, I usually weigh in under 60kg, lean and trim at 1.78m tall... and I am now nearly 50. This way does work.
Hi, 🙋♀️I'm in the same boat; post lockdown, post baby and 3 stone heavier! I've been following EMI Wong on you tube, she has home work outs from 10mins to 1hour, I started on the 10min fat burn and I was surprised,I could actually do it, well sort of! They are really good, and she even has diet advice which involves nutritional food, not just rice cakes and coffee😂.

My biggest tip would be to write down what you are eating - I was shocked at how many extra calories I am eating in snacks when my main meals are reasonably controlled.
Whilst you can't out run a poor diet, finding a way to move around for the majority of each day is key. Going for walks with the baby are great (especially in good weather) but online there are lots of exercise videos for free that you can do - using your baby as an extra weight for squats or sitting them on your tummy doing abs, laying them on the floor to do knee pushups etc. I love yoga each night once the children are in bed - I find that this prevents me just sitting and watching tv (with a mindless biscuit or two!).
Really good luck.

Hi Mollie
Definitely echo the advice of daily diary and use the nhs bmi calculator to get an idea of intake. Different ways of eating suit different people, so worth being open to trying something else if one method doesnt work for you.
Personally, I found following the healthy plate proportions (50%carbs, 25%fat, 25%protein) as a balance over the day works well. And ensure you eat your calorie allowance. Stramge as it sounds too little causes problems long term.
Good luck and keep checking in here (i check in everytime I get the urge to snack as it stops me kitchen raiding).
I'm dealing with LCHF, intermittent fasting and calorie counting and couldn't be happier. You are going to find resources here for all these subjects.
Hope you stick with us. Have a nice day.
