I find the daily diaries hard to follow. I click one and just get a load of happy well done replies. And have trouble finding what people have eaten and if theyve lost weight etc. I find this site hard to use at times.

Daily diaries not many people say what eating

Each person replies to the Host with what they are planning to eat the following day, and then other members offer suggestions, comments and advice if necessary. Just keep scrolling down and reading. The chat and banter is what makes the forum such fun 😊
Nope still dont get it. Thanks anyway. See old daily diaries sometimes. Haven't found one where someones written what they plan to eat
Why are you looking at old daily diaries, basten? There's a new one posted every day and the link can be found in both Pinned Posts and Events.
Every person lists what they're going to eat the following day and you can tell how much weight they've lost by the badge next to their name.
Here's the link to today's, there are over 400 replies, so take your time reading it all healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
I totally agree that the site is hard to use at times. It would help if replies could contain pictures and little summaries of links like Facebook. I have always found Slack the most versatile of forum type sites or even a bulletin board such as lemonfool.co.uk/viewforum.p... which at least keeps track of unread posts in each topic nicely.
As far as daily diary goes, I agree that there are few details of food consumed. To be fair I don't think it is designed to do what you are looking for as it is what you are planning, not what you have done.
I would prefer people posting pictures of what they ate yesterday with links to recipes and people commenting on them, a bit more like bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/col...

The point of the Daily Diary is to plan and commit to what you are going to eat and your exercise plans, which helps many of us stick to it. It is not intended to be a recipe site or a diary of what you have eaten, but we do sometimes ask each other for recipes and is a great place for ideas.
I agree with BigRedDBA that navigating the site can be tricky but so worth persevering with, but I think we should remember it is one forum that comes under the HealthUnlocked umberella and the set up probably works better for Couch 2 5K or Active 10 which are not so busy and don't have the daily topics.
Good luck basten I'm sure you'll get there.
Same here
The idea of the daily diary is to post your food, and to comment on at least 3 others. That means there will be 3 times as many non-diary entries as actual menus. Probably much more. I try to comment on a dozen or more each time, and many do the same.
This site has literally the worst discussion software I have ever seen. I am sure there are worse examples, but no one is using them. The content here (what the members actually write) makes it worth persevering.
If you look at any discussion on here (eg this page you are on now) you will see that some messages have one or more fine grey lines on the left, while others (like this message) do not. The ones without the lines are replies to the original message, the ones with the line are replies to replies.
On the Daily Diary, almost all the posts that do not have the grey lines to the left will contain someone's eating plan for the day. You need to scroll down and concentrate on those. It's a pain, but it's worth it. Some people are eating amazing things. I have got so many ideas from it.
But please, hit the reply button a few times if you are reading the active diary. People love compliments, and are happy to answer questions.
Now I know where your name comes from, those lines sure are subtle, so subtle I'd never noticed them! That'll be a big help especially when I'm hosting.
Yes I've never seen fine grey lines . Thanks everyone for helping and trying to explain. I never can plan ahead what to eat. Not until that day. I have a lot of issues mental health and isolation amongst other things and have always always hated cooking. I used to have meals delivered but stopped them. I maintained and kept a good 9 stone weight size 14 up till last September when put on medicine which increased my weight . All I've read about it on another Forum elsewhere people have said theyve dieted exercised fasted weeks and still cant shift weight. I used to always just eat porridge fruit or tiny salad lunch and plain chicken fish pots and veg dinner and kept constant good weight .thank you all for explaining advice help etc
