Only a few days from weigh in. 17,000+ steps done. Calories counted and 30% protein, 30% fat and 40% carbs. I can't do pull ups...need to work on that. Exercise video...check! Leicester (well, where I live anyway) is out of lockdown. Life is good.

Aiming to get below 12 stone Sean is amazing you are about four months ahead of me so I’d be so pleased if I managed anything near that. You’ve done so well. It tired me out reading your achievements in one day ! You must not lose sight of the amazing steps you’ve made so far. Well done

Hi Jeff, thanks for your support, it means a lot. I am absolutely positive that you'll be where you are aiming for in four months. I wondered whether you'd been cycling today, how far and what you'd seen. Hopefully I'll finish repairing our bicycles this week and we can go for a bike ride. I love cycling. How much are you hoping to lose and by when? Hope you had a great day today! Sean.

Eh up Sean I rode from just outside Lancaster up to Arneside which is a beauty spot it's about 26 miles round trip but I choose the coastal roads a little quieter but lots of ascents and descents which makes it interesting. I'm cycling hills I didn't think I would be able to. I'm down from 14.13 to 13.11 now. That's in about six weeks. Next target 13.7. Ultimately 12 stone. My top BMI is 12.7 In my running days I was 10.3. I can't run it off as I used to as my knees have gone and I've a dodgy hip. I'm going to swim three days a week as the local pool reopens soon. I am cutting out refined carbs knocked beer on the head. I usually gig I'm a singer and guitarist and often part of the deal is free beer. So lockdown takes that out of the equation. I can drink shorts they're carb free and wine is low in carbs. Fasting works for me I don't mind feeling hungry I know I'm going to eat later so no problem. So on LCHF. I often sail on Windermere which is physically demanding but won't sail this year now. I bought my first dinghy from Rutland near you. You're going to be fine you are doing so well mate. Good luck with the bikes they're fun they get you out and you don't even feel you're doing exercise👍

Wow Jeff, that's amazing so far. And what a bike ride, that must be wonderful. We did a 6 mile walk around Bosworth Battlefield on Saturday. It was only supposed to be 3, but we got lost! 🤣 Still, the countryside is amazing and it was a lovely day. I am also knocking beer on the head and just having my whisky twice a week, beer boats me and expands my gut no end, so I've decided to cut it out for a while. I'm also thinking about LCHF - to an extent - over these next couple of weeks to get back on track but yoi seem to be doing a lot more than me at the moment. Today is the first day in 19 days I haven't reached my daily goal of 17,000 steps, so ill have to up it a little next week to catch up! Tomorrow is too busy to repair the bikes, so will mend them Tuesday and go for a ride Wednesday. I used to do about 20 miles a day, but haven't ridden for a while. I don't think my bum will like me for a while after getting back on again! Good luck on your journey! You're doing brilliantly!

I love a pint Sean but I realise you are just drinking big glasses of sugary water. Lockdown has taken this temptation away. I usually gig in pubs at least once or twice a week which meant free beers as part of the deal and the weight was just piling on. .

Whisky is much safer for the calories . The weight isn't coming off as fast as I would like with LCHF probably because I should just not drink alcohol at all for a while as it messes with your metabolism.

The benefit of LCHF is you don't crave food as much because you're eating fats. If you eat carbs your insulin level goes up and then you crave more carbs. I've just got used to not having high carb foods. You are still eating carbs like in nuts or vegetables but in smaller amounts. I think you try different things to see what works for you.. I might start restricting calaries and extending the length of time between eating to make sure my body uses up all the food reserves in the liver and then goes on to burning my body fat.

Yes it will take a while for your backside to become desensitised when you get back on the bike again!

Depends on how far you cycle. Keep going you're doing so well.

Kind regards

Jeff
