Hello and Welcome to the Weight Loss Forum Sxysaz

I’m not sure why three months is such a critical time to lose a set amount of weight, but it’s plenty of time to change habits and improve your eating which will sustain you long term.

If you haven’t already then please read the Pinned Posts here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... Please read it carefully so you can find all the information you need to find your way around.

As a peer to peer support group we rely on mutual encouragement, and nothing beats joining in, reading posts and replying to others. Our Group Weigh-in and the Daily Diary are probably the best places to start

Best wishes in your weight loss journey

Indigo 😊

Fast weight-loss can be problematic as it may not stay off. A sustainable loss would be 1-2 pounds / 0.5-1 kilo.

When I started losing weight I was approaching morbid obesity so I lost weight at a slightly higher rate to start with, finishing the first three months 16kg (2.5 stone) down.

I used a LCHF (Low-Carb High-Fat) methodology (with 'Second Nature' as it happens).

Losing a lot quickly isn't good from what I have seen.. People tend to put it back on just as quickly. In three months you could lose 2st. That is a really good achievement. Eating healthily isn't always more expensive. Once you have cut out the junk food and replaced with healthy alternatives, I find I break even on what I spend. Walking can help with weight loss and it is good for the mood. Most of us have some exercise equipment at home. I have a gym ball, resistance bands, fitness dvd and you can always dance to a favourite CD. Good luck on your journey.

Don't pressure yourself too much. If you don't lose the weight quickly you will become disillusioned and "fall off the wagon" so to speak! Ignore the 3 months deadline and view it as a long term commitment to change. You may not have lost as much as you wanted within the first 3 months but 3 months after that you will have lost even more, instead of putting it all back on.

Believe me, been there/ done that and I was so fed up and disappointed with myself.

Good luck

Quick weight loss isn't always the best way to go but with healthy eating you could loose a decent amount at 1 or 2 lbs a week. And ' dieting' or healthy eating doesn't have to be expensive in fact healthy freshly made food is cheaper and more filling.

Not what you're looking for?
