Confident at last

Well got to my target at SlimmingWorld 2 weeks ago just before 2 week holiday off work. Decided as 6 stone overweight I’d aim to lose 2, then decided 3 would be better but felt so much fitter and healthier I ended up settling for 4 stone loss and being lowest weight I’d usually get to before putting it all back on..... not this time it feels different, I’ve had week away, drank, afternoon tea, fish and chips in Whitby etc but the difference was I didn’t pig out I ate reasonable portions and walked loads and scales that said a 1lb gain last week now say a 2lb loss 🎉 its all in the preparation, commitment and wanting it badly enough. Love my size 14 jeans a size I’d never got down to.... but for first time ever I’m confident that’s where I’m staying 😉

Great going Aussieblues.

Mindful eating is a great skill to learn and even more difficult to adhere to when on holiday.

Keep up the good work!

Very well done 😊. Sounds as if you’ve got a different mindset and attitude to food

Thanks yes it took a while as was brought up to clear plate but now I’ve slowed my eating down & question myself 1/2 way through as to how hungry I am. No longer feel guilty leaving food on plate & dish less up.

Those are excellent habits and some I still need to learn 😊

Definitely I realised sometimes I just ate things because they were there now I question wether I really want them.

I think that is a problem for a certain age group and then the next generation as a result. It probably had a lot to do with rationing, during and following the war. I remember being told that there are children who are starving. It's a difficult one to get round but I have cut my portions which helps. I also realise it won't do me any good to finish my food if I am already full. I am new here and have never calorie counted before but I am finding it so helpful and a real eyeopener. I am surprised at how full I feel and for how long. I think it is definitely to do with cutting out sugar though I have factored in the odd treat. I am finding I only need a tiny portion to satisfy me. Long may it continue as I know it is early days. I find filling in the weekly sheet very motivating.
