2 down, 363 days to go!

I’ve given myself a year to turn things round. Weight, health & mind. I’m 2 days in so far and not bad. I’m using MyFitnessPal & finding it very easy to use. I’m taking it 1 day at a time. I gave up smoking in November 2018 and the weight unfortunately went up. I will post my progress (if anyone is interested) weekly. I will need lots of encouragement too.

Well done on giving up smoking. You've done yourself a huge favour there :)

Why not make use of what the forum has to offer like the great team support of a weekly weigh in and the ideas and discussions about food in the Daily Diary? You could also join the exercise challenges and other activities on offer. That's where you'll get sustained encouragement and will be able to encourage others too. It's served me much better than posting or blogging as you get to know people and have more interaction.

The What's Happening? thread lists everything that's on offer and is a place for a general chat. Here's the link healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Congrats on giving up smoking which is a big step and shows you have the commitment to make the next one.

Many of the people do well here because they involve themselves in the forum's activities and learn how to eat healthily. Much of the advice here is contrary to the perceived 'correct' way of eating that has been promoted for the past decades and may surprise you.

Best of luck!

Very well done on giving up smoking. If you can do that, you can do this. You'll find lots of support and good ideas here. Just show up and keep at it, one day at a time and you'll be surprised.

Hello there, I am with you all the way. That's what it's all about. Set your mind and keep it set, and you will achieve your goal. Very realistic goal. I like the fact you gave yourself a year. You will fall off the wagon, but that does not mean your a failure. Just dust your self off and carry on. It will be worth it in the end, all your hard work would have paid off then.

Hi there, I am quite new too. I have not posted or weighed in for a while. I like your one day at a time routine. I have a very busy and stressful life, and turning to food and alcohol. Good luck, you will get lots of support here.

Weekend drinking is a killer, especially with the not smoking. Im just going to try a little bit harder every day. Mini wins, not going to go he’ll for leather, I know I’d never keep that up.

Well you sound to be thinking the right way!! Going at it hell fer leather and wanting it to happen in a few months is just a recipe for failure! I have tried a lot of different diets in my time, and found Low carb high fat and fasting are the way for me to go. It is all about finding your own perfect way. Plus make it fit you! if you want your weekend drink .... who doesn't? ..... work round it! accept that it may take a bit longer to keep it, but make a choice to still have it, rather than something you make yourself pine for or feel guilty about. (on the LCHF you can have vodka, gin or Whisky etc if that helps .. hic!) Don't be afraid to try different ways to lose, or change it over now and then! somewhere out there is your way!!.. now go find it!! 😂 I look forward to your updates! 👍
