Hello, Mrsdepp2016, and welcome to the forum
My advice would be:-
- eat enough and eat well: eating too little is a major cause of weight loss failure: if you're calorie counting, get the range appropriate for you from the NHS BMI calculator
- eat real food, home cooked, plenty of veg; avoid sweet stuff and processed food - and that includes anything labelled low fat or diet or light/lite: they're all ultra-processed
- build the forum into your day, just a few minutes to drop in see what people are talking about, join in and offer support

Hello, the best advice I could give is to read up on lchf, the food is lush ! x
Hi, Mrsdepp2016 , Welcome.
What works for many members is the Low-Carbohydrate, High-Fat diet (LCHF, see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Eating All Day aka Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
healthunlocked.com/fasting-...
Following strict diet guidelines like low carb high fat is very restrictive and will not work in the long run
LCHF might be defined as I forget how many carbs - but Moderate-Carb, Adequate Fat is less restrictive, and is what has worked for me for over a year... and it does work, particularly in combination with Intermittent Fasting. I keep to my rules until I have got down to my target weight. "Propper" LCHF is expensive when you increase your calories for maintenance.
Is there anything that you think would work?
Hi Mrsdepp2016 (great name by the way) - I don't have any advice (I'm new too) but just wanted to say hello and welcome to the forum. It's a really friendly place. Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing. All the best, Fx
Welcome Mrsdepp, have you had a chance to read the information that BridgeGirl gave you?
Has it helped you to decide what sort of healthy eating pattern you are going to follow?
I would add that you don't have to change everything over night, just take a step at a time. The more you read here, the more confident you will become about changes. There is a wealth of information here and we are happy to answer any questions you may have.
It can be hard work finding what works for you, but I strongly advise you to avoid all diet foods or anything labelled low fat. Eat real foods and don't be frighted to add good satiating fats into your diet and watch those carbs. You could take a look at the DietDoctor web site and find some really tasty and satiating meals that will leave you feeling full and less likely to snack in between meals You really won't feel deprived
