I would like to lose a stone in wt. I find it very difficult to lose- so this ammount would be good for a start.
I was thinking of having two meals consisting mainly of fruit or veg or both and my third meal a straightforward calorie controlled meal but containing more protein. Is fruit very calorific as a whole?
Fruit and veg provide a lot of bulk without a lot of calories. HOWEVER, I wouldn’t recommend it. I did this sort of thing for many years and I finally discovered that bulk does not fill you up. Plain fruit tends to spike your blood sugar and creates more hunger and cravings, requiring a tremendous amount of willpower to stay within your calorie limits. I’ve finally discovered that adding healthy fats to my diet keeps me satisfied and I am losing weight. I do calorie control and choose healthy fats (adding 400 calories a day of olive oil, avocado, nuts, olives, etc) and am miraculously eating less and feeling full while losing weight. Take a look at some of the links and surf around to check out what successful dieters on here are doing.
Fruit not calorific in itself but high in fructose so can give you spikes in blood sugar. Good luck and good to break weight loss into manageable chunks
