First timer here... desperation has set in!!!

Dear all, I’m Minky,

45 years old and have struggled to keep the motivation to loose weight for about 10 years. Never used to be over weight, always been naturally “curvy” but now more blobby!!😫

I’m a master at excuses, knowing I should but don’t, done SW,WW , blaming work etc but I’m at a point of not having any clothes that fit, mobility is starting to feel compromised and I’m quite honestly fed up. Starting motivation is to loose 1 stone for a wedding at the beginning of August...

Help!!!

Hi Minky. Well done for choosing to do something for yourself that will positively impact on your health and well-being both physically and mentally. You’ll find a huge amount of support on this forum and I’m sure an Admin will send you some helpful links to get you started.

Good luck with your journey. Personally I find setting mini goals help me to stay focussed and motivated for the big goal. Are you able to pledge some exercise? Maybe walking, couch 2 5k or something else you may enjoy a challenge with? There are daily diary groups and weekly weigh ins too that may help.

Good luck, I wish you success.

Hi I joined the group yesterday so also very new and have a sons wedding in December. Before having kids I was only 8 stones but afterwards like you I blamed work, kids, and everything else apart from me. Also tried SW and WW took it off but always went back on. Desperate not to let my son down on his big day and mother of the bride is very gorgeous. I know I can’t compete there but I have to lose some weight in order to make myself feel better. I am also quite short 5’3 and everyone else is tall and slim 🙁. One day at a time.. good luck to you too 🤞

It's great to set a long term goal but I would suggest setting smaller goals which would be easier to reach. Every time you reach your set goal you will feel proud of your success and it will help you on your weight loss journey .
