I’m struggling a little now with just 6 lbs to go to my goal of 11 stone 10 lbs. I’m currently 12 stone 2 lbs. 3 weeks ago I gained 0.5 lb, the next week I lost 0.5 lbs and this week I stayed the same, no loss, no gain.
I need to work hard this week and really focus on food intake and choices.
On a positive note I ran my first 10K event with my Sister Ruth on Sunday. We reached our goal of completing the distance in under 1 hour.
New week starts tomorrow.

Great running damienair and you're looking good in your pic.
It's generally more difficult to shed that last bit of weight but I was wondering how sure are you that you need to shed those pounds? The fact that you're clearly quite fit suggests that your body weight numbers are going to be skewed higher due to muscle content.
Doing 10k in under an hour is good going. Congrats!
Initially when I started I set a goal of 11 stone 7 lbs as calculated for my healthy BMI. However I have reassessed that goal, I think 11:10 is a more realistic and healthy goal. I was over a year ago 14 stone 4 pounds. I lost a bit and really started working on weight loss and running in earnest in November.
I now love running but I also love my food. I think the kids having so much chocolate in the house since Easter has not helped.😀 I’m making a conscious effort to not eat anything sweet this week and make a bigger effort. I’ll track what goes in, I’ll be more mindful then. I know the last 6 lbs are going to be slow. I just didn’t think it would be this slow.
You have to decide if you want to be "healthy", "fit" or "athletic".
I am 70 and (if) longevity and "fit for life" are my goals - so I should aim for the "healthy" range - but I like being "lean", and I am in the "fit" range at 18% body-fat.
If you are going to do an "event" rather than a training run, google "Carbo-loading", and do not try to lose weight within half a week of the event.
I am carbo-loading a bit for a walk on Mayday Bank Holiday Monday.
Hi, I want to be healthy and fit. I usually just do 3 x 5K runs per week. I’ll be at my local Parkrun tomorrow . Sometimes I’ll do a longer 7K run. I know the last few pounds will be hard to shift. I’m just going to have to focus on tracking my food intake. Honestly track it.
Enjoy your walk on Monday.

You might have hit a plateau, maybe a change in exercise for a week or two will get things going again. Your body is maybe to used to doing the same things to often. Try on top of your normal exercise regime doing some kettlebell swings, arguably the most effective fat burning exercise that you can do. Doing this will have most of the muscles in your body working which requires a greater amount of energy to be used (body fat and carbs)
Thank you. That’s great advice, I’ll give it a go, never did kettle bells before. I’ll check out my local gym, I’m not a member but I can pay per class. I’ll look for the kettle bell class.
I’ll also stick to 3 meals per day this week. No snacking and tracking.
