Hello, I used to be obese but I still watch my weight as I am about 25 BMI. I eat 350 calories of sausage rolls in the night and 450 calories of yoghurt. I also smoke 5-10 cigarettes within the 9 hours I am in bed which is either 8pm-5am or 9pm-6am. Can anyone help me?

Hi and welcome, RUNNINGJMSW :)

Those are some difficult habits you've got into and you need to reset your sleep routine.

Firstly, I'd say you're in bed too long and not tired enough to stay asleep the whole night. Try doing more exercise through the day and going to bed an hour later.

Make sure you have no screen time for at least an hour before you go to bed, that means phone, computer, gaming and TV.

Make sure your bedroom is cool, dark, airy and quiet.

Try to do something relaxing, just before going to bed, like meditation.

Give up smoking completely, so that cigarettes are not a temptation. You can join this forum to help healthunlocked.com/quitsupport

Don't buy the sausage rolls and they can't be eaten.

Make sure you eat enough good food through the day, so that you're not hungry at night.

I hope that helps.

Welcome RUNNINGJMSW glad to have you on board. Major congrats on turning your life around and reaching a BMI of 25. I bet you're really proud of yourself.

Lots of great advice from moreless although none of it is likely to be straightforward for you to attain. Changing our ingrained habits is such a difficult thing to achieve but I'm thinking that you had an epiphany about your weight once upon a day so maybe you can harness some of those same thought processes now.

When it comes to managing food then this is definitely the place to be as the forum is packed with some of the most caring, helpful and kind people you'll ever engage with.

Good luck!

Haha. No! You have to help yourself! The cigarette companies are laughing at you and robbing you blind. Get real. If you don’t set your bed on fire you’ll get fat. Mate, get real!
